  1. I know this is late, but who is going to the John Haines IV/Hoppenville 2014 show other than myself and that Mini-Mack guy? Anyone coming from Jersey on I-78 wanna get off at Hellertown/Bethlehem Exit 67 and follow me in??
  2. Ex Pittsburgh, Pa. One of two I believe. This isn't the one that wrecked in (texas?) is it????
  3. I am happy to report that mack mhe9 has once again come to the rescue of one of my firetruck comrades who needed a 1970's Century-Series American Lafrance pumper moved from Indiana to Belvidere NJ. He originally called some guy 2-3x who always promised to "call you back after I do some research and run some numbers." This was earlier this year. Well my buddy in Jersey got a call about 3 weeks ago and got word that the truck has to leave ASAP. So he called that other guy one more time and got the same old "call ya back." That never happened so he heard that I had a guy in my back pocket from 3 of my other firetruck buddies.....So I gave him Ray's number and with one phone call Ray had him set up. My buddy couldn't be happier!!! This makes the fifth or sixth move that Ray has done for friends of mine and each and every one of them are tickled pink with him. I'm gonna become his broker if this shit keeps up!!! Ray by the way I just gave your number out tonight to two more buddies- one wants a tillered ladder truck moved to Va from Tx.....Dunno if that will fit on your trailer though, thats kinda long....And may put you over 80K....... The other one is easy- a pumper from the DuBois Pa area to the Cincy Ohio area.
  4. I wish I could.....As far as the money goes, I can't buy something with money that I just do not have. The Mortgage company just has no sense of humor when they don't get their monthly check. As for no storage, I stored the FWD outside for about 3/4 of a year one time in it's life....Even with a good quality RV cover, she still suffered. I will never commit that sin again. Plus I l live "in town" and storing a truck outside just is not an option.
  5. Hmmmmmm looks awfully overweight for them axles to me......Whyn't you pull over here and let's just see what there is to see with my handy dandy gen-yoo-ine Smokey T. Bear Junior DOT Man Accessory Set.
  6. Very cool!!! Congrats on your nostalgic find, it looks to be in outstanding condition! If I had the money and a place to store it indoors, I would find a single screw Hayward F-Model like the one my old man owned when I was a youngling.....and rode in the right hand seat for SO many miles...............
  7. That just about sums THAT up.
  8. If it's an Air Research Turbo I might have one or two. Verify your brand of turbo first though.
  9. According to wikipedia (about as trustworthy as a truck driver CB story- but the Wikipedia link did cite multiple credible sources in the bibliography) Lipe was swallowed up by Emerson Electric (Emerson Industrial Automation) and several clues lead me to believe it was to get the Rollway line of bearings. I have sent their customer support folks an email. Not holding my breath. In the meantime anyone have a 2772 fork laying around?
  10. OK thanks fellas, with your help we are 99% sure it's a Lipe Brown clutch, however they were bought out by someone.....Was it Fuller? Does anyone happen to know???
  11. Green: That's my old man.....LOL......
  12. Hmmmmm the label on the pear? peach? says California......when did you move?
  13. American Bosch or Robert Bosch? There is a difference and Mack used both!!!!
  14. An all-original Hayward.........If it is as in good condition as in the pictures and has been as well maintained as the guy says it is.....I say at LEAST $8K. Keep the Daytons. An original Hayward is rare enough, but a Hayward with Daytons is a special kind of rare.
  15. "Ok Sir, that was for one double-occupancy room, did you say you wanted pole dancing or non-pole dancing?"
  16. WTH do sammiches have to do with anything? Peanut butter and jelly, grille cheese or ham and cheese?
  17. Does Mack have the Brockway archives???
  18. Posting this for my father: A friend who does not do computers at all but does do antique busses (especially school busses) and one fire truck is looking for a part. His fire truck is built on a 1946 Brockway chassis. It has a 42BX Continental gas engine and a 5-speed Fuller transmission 5A3305P. He is unable to identify the clutch make and model. He needs a clutch fork. The fork has the number "2772" cast into it. My guess is that the fork is also a vendor part and not unique to Brockway. Any out there?
  19. Actually a better way for you to get there would be I476 to I78, get off at exit 67, drop ramps and allow a stowaway onto your flatbed, then out I78 to 81/83 south..............
  20. Huh?? LOL just kidding. However the others are right- there is some kind of nuance with this forum's software that does not get along with IE; not only with the quote function but also for picture uploading, etc. It works fine with Chrome. (everything works better when you chrome it........)
  21. I don't know about you guys but I love hearing about the Communism and Socialist policies of the Soviet Union back then from an insider.........Oh.....wait.....shit.....nevermind we're there now. My bad.
  22. No offense but why would you want to go backwards? If you swap it's usually a gasoline engine to an oil burner, not the other way around. And yes, there is an extremely high possibility that you will not only have to swap the clutch and transmission, but the rear as well. The driveline right now is set up for a max engine speed of 2100 (+/-) RPM's plus the higher torque of the oil burner.
  23. Couldnt afford lube oil and the workmans comp claims for the hearing loss, smashed fingers, and lung problems due to exhaust exposure.
