  1. Hello all... I am new to this forum and looking for some information... I recently purchased a 1954 Mack 85LS pumper and will be looking for lots of parts... for a frame off restore. Currently I am looking to find whatever parts are missing from the motor. By chance can anyone tell me where to get a copy of the original service manual or the like. I have already written the museum for info as well. Thanks in advance...

  5. Hello all. I am new to this forum, and am looking for an 85 LS pumper. Preferably piped or already at 1000 GPM. Any Condition is fine as I want it as a project for me and my kids for years to come. I'm located in central Maryland so hauling will be a consideration. Would appreciate folks keeping an eye out.. Thanks in advance!

I havent really found any info in Harvey's books. I am looking to find front fenders, and an L Model Hood for my 54 85-LS... Thanks in advance...
  7. Hello all, Well I am new to the group and I'm looking for some help. I currently work for Chevron Fire Department in Richmond, CA, We are in the process of trying to find our old Mack fire truck from 1934. Back in the day, we were known as Standard Oil of California. I have contacted the Mack Museum and I've got our spec sheet and delivery info for our Mack. It was a 1931 Chassis, #6BK6S-1033, that was built for us in the Los Angeles Mack yard. We didn't take delivery until 4/30/1934, so I'm not sure what year the truck was registered as. We had the engine until around 1961 when it apparently was sold at auction to somebody. Unfortunately I don't know what auction or to whom, since our records here are sketchy. Anyone with any information, please contact us. Or does anyone have any ideas where we can go from here. We currently have some police officers doing a VIN search for us, but no leads yet. I attached a picture of the old girl from 1936. Thanks, Wes Dacko Captain Chevron FIre Department 510-685-8827
  8. Hello All We're in the midst of restoring a 1974 CF-685 pumper. We would like to find a pair of NOS gold mirrors to replace old ones. Part numbers are believed to be 3157.MGGBR & 3157.MGGBL. We also want new chrome mounting arms (not sure if part number gets you the arms with the mirrors). We don't need heated mirrors, but it seem the gold anodized version is no longer made and hard to find. I've attached a photo of the existing installation. Thanks for your help.
  9. I need a complete transfer valve for my Waterous 1000gpm pump. The part numbers are as follows; Valve - 70586 still available from Waterous if needed Gear Sector - 60992 still available from Waterous if needed Valve Sleeve - 71072 Bearing - 61514 The two parts are pricey and I am hoping someone will have a complete valve assembly. Please contact me @ mack458@verizon.net or 610-246-3265. Many thanks in advance!
  10. Can someone explain the difference between two different 1947 Mack "L" Model fire trucks? The Boston Fire Department had several fire trucks delivered during 1947 from Mack. The Model numbers are of a different type, though. For example, the first is Serial # 85LS1152. The second is Serial # 19LS1064. I'm guessing the last four numbers are the individual identification for that truck. But what is the difference between a "Model 85LS" and a "Model 19LS?" Is/are the difference(s) visible? Also, can anyone recommend a good book and/or website on Mack "L" fire apparatus? Many thanks in advance.
