  1. 1778mm is 70" or 5'.8" thats a pretty long hood I know a R700 and superliner have a BBC of 119 and a RS700 has a BBC of 117. if someone knows the length of the +3 cab you can do the math for hood length.
  2. the factory v12 Rs700Ls had cowl extension panels. I would assume the superliner may need them as well?
  3. Reminder..show starts tomorrow....
  4. Plastic lego toy made out of the same plastic that they build the Anthem with?
  5. Not here in Chicago. Chicago mack dealers once had new macks in the Lot, now we have no 100% Mack truck dealrships that I know of. M&K and CIT truck centers are what we have now. they sell KW mack others. you would be lucky to spot a mack in the lot, if you do find on it was just in for service. yet there will be 30+ New Volvo tractors front and center in the lot....
  6. Looks like they are removing the stack for Hight reasons?... some of the cat pavers I moved had a stack with a hinge on them to lower them during transport.
  7. Intresting.. think about that for a moment. a Mack suspension that is still used today some 80 years later. its had many changes and upgrades but the concept unchanged.
  8. How long has the camelback been around. I know B models had it .....Late 40s?
  9. are they still around..l Have not seen them much but I also have not been down near the city lately (thank god)
  10. But did he ever crash, roll the truck over, get the truck stuck in a ditch, hit a low bridge? drop a trailer?????? I bet he was Swifts #1 employee and they ruined it for him and the company. SMH
  11. would need to see better pics of the box on the truck.... the R model engine and frame is basically the same as a B model, both have flared rails up front. I would think the R model box would bolt onto the frame with drilling a few holes and without needing to remove or lift the engine. You say the PS is powered from a belt/pully. most R models I have driven had the pump mounted to the back of the compressor.
  12. They say a frameless will raise higher than a 1/4 frame but I have seen some of the new 1/4 frames and they do just as good and keep all 4 corners on the ground.
  13. I have had to dump almost at 90 a few times and I dont like it at all. If its stone , slow and easy and it comes out ok but any type of dirt and clay 1/4 gets stuck most times. the only way to do it is to set the tractor brakes ,dump and then lower it back down while pulling the tractor up untill the weight of the trailer coming down starts to help move you forward...then pul lup 5' and do it again so it all comes out. its not so bad on pavement but you have to watch it the whole time.
  14. runnnig blind that is scary all in itself
  15. cabin fever is next weekend in Lebanon PA http://www.cabinfeverexpo.com/ that is also a good show for miniature machines and steam.
  16. I was the same way when it first came out 10 or so years ago. today facebook is more of a gathering of people who like something you are intrested in. for example I belong to Mack truck groups, Model Railroad groups R/C truck groups etc... some of the pics people share inspire me to build things. and the truck pics are just as good as hanks and infact I think more people are posting never seen pics before to FB. thats why I like it.
  17. should not hurt anything if it fell inside the block. if you have access to a small camera probe it might tell you were it went.
  18. Facebook is great for photo sharing and such but forums still do a much better job of info sharing and search function. I think I said it a year ago but I fell off BMT when the big change happened as I could not stay logged in and it became a PITA to log on. Not sure what changed but now I log in automatically again... I still like the last style board version better as it was more streamlined in my opinion.
  19. I would not haul that load of steel out on a highway looking like that. I know it likely wont fall off but not on the highway. side roads maybe.... I get pissed when they load me with roof tin and nothing heavy on top of it to keep it from blowing around.
  20. The R/C truck guys are gathering near Indy in 2 weeks. indoors at the fairgrounds. I have done a few of these events and they are fun to see the trucks and equipment run. this one is not at the hotel where the toy show was at. this one is in Lebanon a few miles up the road from INDY. Im going to try and make it for at least one night. if you are on facebook click this https://www.facebook.com/groups/rctrucksandconstruction/?multi_permalinks=2000330856953520&notif_id=1515128653972853&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic or check out the web forums http://rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=13004
  21. they bought into Volvo Trucks
  22. I think some people sign up to web forums and Facebook then start to post their spam for others to see. its not hacking because they are not digging into the guts of the web page design but they are posting useless crap for others to see.... thats how I see it atleast
  23. when that old E unit walks right past the brand new diesels at 60 mph then bumps the throttle up 4 more notches. you can hear those twin EMD diesels start to sing in notch 8. this was filmed in 1994
  24. is that just what the Chinese government says is the max but in reality they limit it to less than that to keep prodution HQ in China
  25. do you just use blocks of wood under the rear most part of the trailer when loading a dozer or something? so that the trailer stays more stable as the load comes up?
