  1. Thats good to know. I thoughtmack went back to the 1970s when many Mack Westerns did not even have tow hooks. My 77 RS700L has a nice factory aluminum bumper but who ever ordered it new speced it with out tow hooks. Not that I ever needed them but still think every truck should have them as standard equipment.
  2. Thats a Pontiac not a Mack (look at the hood badge) Now show us the real prototype for the B model II Concept....We know you have it...!!!
  3. so you cant see them blinking when the headlights are on?
  4. remove bumper to get to tow hooks....How smart is that!!!!! I would first try and tow it with those hood mirrors. if that did not work then I would pull the bumper but thats just me...
  5. Here is another test
  6. There it is....took me a while but I found it......I had to move back from the screen
  7. Correct me if im wrong but the radator cap should release pressure above a set psi. Is the cap failing? Do these new trucks even have a cap on the radiator or is it just on the overflow tanks?
  8. nice find considering its age... keep the pics coming as we dont get to see many of these in solid found condition
  9. Completly missed this build..... Nice job on it. Looks great. I put sound deadening in the whole cab on My RS700 and it made a very noticable difference. I also did the inside of my doors and like you said you notice it when you open or shut them. it sounds like a block of wood hitting the floor now vs a pop can.
  10. Hold my beer......
  11. I dont know the exact specs but one of the main reasons they had such higher HP was the fact that they have a unlimited source of cold water to keep things in check. I know they used them in military Tanks as well.
  12. the same trend around here is that WM is buying natural gas powered trucks and they have drifted away from mack. even with WM roll off trucks I see more new petes than Mack. that being said I think the Granite is a better roll off chassis.
  13. im just here for the boobs
  14. anyone see this yet? Its $$$ but looks kinda cool https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mack-Model-B-1-Piece-Fiberglass-Front-End-Nose-Tilt-Custom-B61-B42-UNFINISHED/302439994332?hash=item466ad413dc:g:5zkAAOSw7zlZkOgv&vxp=mtr
  15. Poor girl cant afford to pay for Home heating.....But I dont mind
  16. Most often I used a hand wrench that was heated and bent to get a better angle on them. I think they are 3/4" bolts if I recall?
  17. check if watts has a source for re prints?
  18. Hear the same think here as well as people that have been shopping for a new truck. Mack is always more $$$, has less options and not offering the potential owner the Engine HP wanted. This is mainly in heavy haul or construction.
  19. Thanks for that Info KS..... You really do have a wealth of info and the news reports to back it up... I hope you have most of your Mack knowledge written down on paper some where. If not, please start! or better yet perhaps a book written by you? 30 years from now I can foresee us all looking back to old BMT threads for long lost info LOL
  20. A friend in High school had a 2 speed glider in his 1962 Chevy Impala. Under normal driving first gear went up to around 20MPH and then 2nd took us all the way to 120MPH LOL. It had a kick down on it to downshift back into 1st but was rarely needed. you are right the car was fun to drive and smooth....
  21. I think many would jump at $200 just for the fact that its NOS. I would agree that having it copied and possibly reproduced may gain you more $$ down the road. Not that it would be a hot selling item but there will be those that want a near OEM reproduction part. Trent
  22. is that a automatic transmission? never seen one of these before?
  23. I think the parts have become very $$$ In fairness the trans is old and they cant keep making stuff that dont brake to often. PAI still had parts for it last timeI checked
  24. was it that the brake down with the numbers made it easy to know what each part was part of? I worked in auto racing and one of my jobs was to help with parts sales at the track. With regards to part numbers.... each part number started with letters to note what mfg it was built by. All numbers after that it was the mfg part number. at times we could have 5 different Mfg so remembering all the diffrent ways each mfg numbered their stuff was a big PITA.
  25. Gearhead204 got me hooked up...thank you again! This trans is not even in truck. I bought this trans for $2,000 from a guy in NJ. it was sitting in his shop after it had been rebuilt by mack and was ready to go in one of his fleet of CH and RD Macks if the time ever came to replace one. it never did. I pulled the top covers off and all the gears and bearings are brand new. I got the air shift cover and knob from Global about 8 years ago and when I moved 5 years ago I must have misplaced the knob somehow. Been itching to get it in the truck and thinking next year I may bring it to a shop to get it installed. here is a question Im not sure about... will the main stick on my 2 stick 6 speed bolt onto the top cover/main of the 12speed? Thanks for the input fellas
