    And bitter. People forget it's all about money. Just remember what Mack did to Brockway. Shared cabs....then Brockway disappeared.

    There's a fleet up here that changes their kw's every two years. They've been running the new cab for a long while. All the drivers have the same opinion, garbage. Every truck leaks water, a lot of water. Even the brand new ones, the dealer is now putting beads of silicone around all of the clearance lights and eve the windshield gasket. Very non user friendly controls too.

    My 13 & 18 spds all make a grind/clash sound once in awhile. Usually just the first lo to high in the morning. I'm not a big user of the clutch pedal but I have noticed if I clutch on the hi/lo shifts its a lot smoother.

    One thing you gotta remember when you rebuild older trucks, if you wreck them, you're screwed. Had a '81 valueliner, totally rebuilt, new rears, twin stick spd, and motor. It was repainted to. Basically showroom new. Driver fell asleep and totalled it. Insurance wanted to give us $12,000. I showed them what we had into the truck and I was told "thats unfortunate" We did end up with $18,000, but that was nowhere near what we stuck in it.

    Volvo has common rail coming out too. Only time will tell if these "simpler" engines will be better....not a press release. I respect your opinion alot kscarbel
