  1. Sounds like possibly a bad evaporator. My 2000 was blowing warmer than it should and I figured with 36,000 hours it was time for some love. I put in a new expansion valve, new evaporator, new drier and new compressor. She's back to cooling like new! Cost me $290 in parts and Freon. Dont buy the compressor from mack. They get $300+ just for that. I got mine off ebay.
  2. Nothing wrong with some ink. I wouldn't judge her.
  3. Even 3" is a lot
  4. $150 for a hour "tour" between two consenting adults?
  5. Looks like you need a few sheep around there
  6. But adds how much $ to the cost of a new truck?
  7. How much fuel is wasted in a year just on dpf regen's? They want trucks to use less fuel? Throw the dpf's away, quit recirculating so much exhaust back through a motor and just use scr. Once the rest of the world catches up to this we will be burning way less oil and polluting way less as a whole
  8. Make sure your head is grounded to the engine. Not sure if those work that way or not. But some motors the head needs to be grounded to the motor
  9. So they want GM to take over Chrysler? Why would the government even let that happen? Gm sells alot of trucks, Chrysler sells alot of trucks, in no way merging them would make it better. What say you kscarbel2?
  10. Who's going to save us from ourselves?
  11. Something with the emissions bs. I know when mine idles it actually will build boost pressure at 650rpm. The visor sticker says truck can be idled indefinitely at 500 to 700 rpms but never elevate the idle.
  12. Wtf?! That's definitely not right! My 2015 is ice cold idling or driving. And if your service guy has any brains he should know that these engines are not supposed to be idled up. 550 to 700 rpm's but never above that. These dealers sure can give trucks a bad rap. I would have it back to a good dealer immediately. There should be no excuses like you were told
  13. I'd still insulate the floor regardless of what way you go for heat. You can also run the wirsbo in the floor and not hook it up till later
  14. Sounds like at 60 to 70 you're in youre peak power. I think peak torque is at or around 1300 rpm and horsepower is 1600 1800 rpm
  15. On vmac 1&2 instead of a spring governor setup in the injector pump its controlled by electric servos. And they can go bad. I still think vmac2 is one of the best setups mack had.
  16. Its actually quite the opposite. Infrared or radiant tube heaters(people call them both names) are excellent very high up. They don't heat the air, they heat objects. Its hard to explain. You feel the heat from them but there's no air movement. My dad's one shop has them hanging 18' in the air. And they work excellent. Most installers wont install them below 10'
  17. My main shop is 40x72 with a 15ft ceiling. One 14x14 overhead door and 2 10x10 overhead doors. In Minnesota here I was spending about $2600 a winter to heat with forced air. Just normal batting insulation in the walls and blown in fiberglass insulation in the ceiling. I also have a couple trucks going out and coming in each day. Forced air furnace was my main heat. Went to radiant tube heaters and I use LESS THAN HALF of the propane. Plus no dust blows around and it doesn't feel drafty.
  18. No matter the cost, spray foam insulation. That stuff is amazing! Seals up all crevices and the R value is amazing. It does pay for itself. Floor heat is amazing but the recovery time is very poor. And you might as well leave it turned up all winter. I love infrared tube heaters.....no air blowing and runs for pennies. Another great option is perforated steel on the inside. Quiets things down alot. It'll save your ears. Make sure you have good floor drains and good drainage for them. You can never have to much lighting. With the l.e.d. options out there you can have daylight inside and they dont cost alot to run. If you're thinking of a grease pit, think of this. You can buy a 30,000 pound 4 post hoist for what it would cost to put in a really nice pit. Plus you can use it for cars. You can get a good one for around$13,000. I also have a chapel style ceiling and I gained about an extra 2 1/2 feet of ceiling.
  19. You know what else will cut oil usage? Get rid of dpf's. Run just SCR, if we'd drop down a tier and the rest of the world move up a tier it'd offset. And our mpg's would be alot better too.
  20. I had a vmac 2 doing that, then the injector pump went to hell
