  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-mack-dump-truck-/151255920132?forcerrptr=true&hash=item23378e2e04&item=151255920132&pt=Commercial_Trucks No connection, It looks like this truck has an aluminum frame? Are they rare? Were a lot of them built?
  2. There was a trucking and excavating company by me that has since bought out by Pennsy supply called Slusser Bros. That was their colors when they started out back in the 70's. When they were ordering trucks from Mack, they had a color named for the green, which is close to yours, it was called Olive Green. The yellow on the frame was a brighter shade. Most of their old colors are changed over but I have seen a few still floating around.
  3. To get the best COLD air, you must shut off the valve on the motor that's inline with the heater. I noticed a big difference with cooling.
  4. Ok but do I have to change the heater box to make the cover with the square vent work?
  5. The round vents are on the superliner , the other is on my 94 RD
  6. I've seen people change the heater covers over to the RD style only because new superliner covers are not available. My question is can you just change the cover or do you have to change the whole heater box?
  7. No moose, but they raised elk for years. When Joe was alive, Marylou said they counted to 100 and stopped counting. Now only 4 left. Don't know the location of Burke.
  8. Joe LaRock passed away a few years ago and his wife just passed about 6 months age. His daughter Marylou runs the business now, no longer married to Burke. I'm very good friends with her, was just there yesterday, I stop just to say hi and leave about 3 or 4 hours later. I live only about 3 miles from valley seeding.
  9. On page 3 of the brochure, is that a camera in the front bumper? where do you put your foot to open the hood? or aren't you suppose to open the hood?
  10. This truck was built and shipped to Horner Mack, Vineland, NJ. date delivered 12-6-61. Anyone remember this dealer? Also aluminum was; brakes, aluminum disc wheels with aluminum hubs, front bumper, front and rear water manifold, inlet and outlet water fittings, valve covers, engine front support, engine rear brackets, rear axle brake chamber brackets, spiders and shoes, rear spring end housing caps, and also all the things Superdog listed. It lists all are standard specs. With the wheels, hood, and fuel tanks as the only "aluminum options" for this model. Found all the listings in the paper work I got from the Mack Museum. I'm thinking with this truck being built with heavy rears, triple frame, and big tires, all the aluminum components didn't survive the smooth ride of the camel back. The one piece cast crossmember and trunnion bracket are listed as a weight saver (this truck has one of the heaviest trunnion's I've ever seen!) I will go check to see what is left on the truck when the snow melts (if ever)
  11. I think most of the "light weight" items got swapped out over the years. Rears, tranny cases, fuel tanks, spring hangers, what else was light weight?
  12. That's where I looked and couldn't see any stamping.
  13. L-light weight components where possible, S- six wheels (two in front, 4 sets in rear), T-tractor I thought 673 was a turbo?
  14. 1961 B613LST Tractor, diesel, 20 speed, triple frame, 55,000 rears, 24.5" rubber, runs and drives except copper thieves got to it and took air lines on back frame, batteries and cables. Lots of surface rust but not all rotted. $4,500.00 570-436-1600 Mike

  16. Happened to me once, I over torqued the fuel lines and crimped a few of the lines closed and caused rough running and smoke.
  17. Welcome to BMT. My wife's uncle lives in Riverside so I visit that area often. He has a small farm off of Moser Road.
  18. I always like the barn gate on my dump trailer, but since my friend got a high lift gate on his tri-axle, I think the next one I buy will be a high lift. Barn gates tend to be temper-mental at times and with a little age become hard to close. Dump boxes with barn gates should be built from new and not with an add on afterwards. With add-ons the side are not strong enough to stay square. We hauled stumps and concrete slabs with the high lift with no problems.
  19. 1", changed my a few years ago from 3/4'. I pull a 25 ton tag now. I have holes cut in it for the lights so that will weaken it so I went with 1" for that reason.
  20. By the way, that's a 2 Million dollar boat, total lose.
  21. What city is that in? It is a small world.
