  1. He's been over on the Just old Trucks site posting stuff recently.
  2. I too have my total set way back. Typically an FE runs 40* total. I have this set at 32*. It is just a money pit and making it faster has no real value. None of my toys are the fastest around, I start with too heavy of a vehicle!! They are fun and unusual enough to garner attention. Heck, my wagon has been in magazine print all over, I try to gather copies up when I find out about it. It even made the Australian Galaxie club magazine. They contacted me and I sent pics and a story for both '64's. I got a copy of the little book and an Australian Galaxie club sticker for the car.
  3. The FE is getting some support from the aftermarket. Heads, intakes, 427 blocks in steel or aluminum. They are even popping SOHC parts but they are very slim pickings. Usually sold out before they hit the market. I run a Scat 4.25 forged stroker crank in my 428 in the wagon. It makes it a 462 ci. Edelbrock heads also. It made 625 hp with 2-600 holleys on a factory 2x4 intake. I want to get good parts for the blower motor but just never seem to have enough spare cash?? Been 20 years, it runs well enough for a cruiser. I am just careful with those 40 yr old cast pistons.
  4. It's a real, NOS DD blower right out of the box. I modified it for car drive. Blue Thunder FE blower manifold. It hangs all the way out of the hood(that I never wanted to cut up). I run 93 octane or whatever I can get. It runs 111 mph in the 1/4. ET is lame due to very excessive tire spin. Get used to attention, mines like driving in a parade every time I take bit out.
  5. Nice installation. Is Roadkill a favorite of yours? When they put the blown SBC in the Jag? "Draguar" I just pulled my blower off this summer and upgraded the ignition. I finally replaced the points in my stock 1964 distributor with a Mallory Unilite and a 6AL box. Car starts so much easier, idles dead cold. Don't know why I waited 20 yrs to do this?? Though, 20 yrs ago I didn't have to use my engine crane to hoist the blower off LOL!! I used to be able to just grab it and lift it. Not so much these days. I used to run 600 Holleys, but swapped out to a pair of 660 Holleys. No power valves to deal with. It eats through fuel like it's free. The 600's actually made it economical to drive. The 660's, not so much. It's a stock 68 390 with original cast piston. I only run 4-5# of boost myself. Trying to make it last.
  6. I drove a very similar sized Euclid a few years back at local truck show at Lakeside Sand/Gravel. The ol DD 238 was screaming. You shoulda parked the car and hopped right in!!!
  7. Growing up, my dad bought a brand new '72 Gran Torino wagon, dark green(no wood grain). He traded in the '65 Buick Skylark 2 dr for it. That is neat country out there to visit. Not sure I'd want to live there?
  8. I still use AOL, but not as my homepage. You can pick anything you want using your computer settings. I only open AOL to sign on to my mail. Yes, they do blow your screen up with crap about Trump or anything else to "scare" you. I ignore all the crap they throw at me, get my mail opened and then sign off.
  9. That was a very empty tank, near zero weight. They took the brakes off it also since it was so light. Dan posted pics years back of what that trailer actually looked like. It's just a shell, no tank behind the skin.
  10. Now that's a COOL pic!
  11. Glad to hear the show went well. Maybe I'll make it over again next year? Al always puts on a show. This was from a few years back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9MhJhalQqM
  12. I went racing, but rain is making it not likely to happen. Should have went to PA??
  13. Looks like someone stuck another axle under it? Too wide, as you couldn't turn the wheels very far as it sits. Pretty cool unit though.
  14. My 237 started with ease with only 2 batteries. Not a problem with these "little" engines. BTW, nice truck. That lift and bed will likely be a handy thing to have around. Kinda like a shirt pocket(sure glad to have it when you need it). Sorry to hear about your 4 legged family member.
  15. Well, made my trip to Pittsburgh last weekend. Seems it fixed itself. It holds air without much fuss and even after like 8 hours the shutters were still closed(which means it was holding air). Not sure what the deal was when I tested it with shop air and it leaked off kinda fast. On the road, the compressor didn't have to cycle hardly at all while cruising at 70 mph. I was watching the gauge to see if it dropped off in 10-15 minutes, and it didn't hardly budge. I made a new gasket for the adapter plate on the head(for the line to attach). I sprayed water on it and saw a few bubbles. I made it new, but remade it and that seemed to help with any bubbles showing. Life is good again. Just a few more trips this year and it's back in hibernation til next April.
  16. Okay, kinda wondered if that was the reason for the dog and knew it would have no issues then.
  17. We had a Kresge's in downtown Canton. That goes wayyy back. I think they were still open in early 80's? Or at least some store was there as I waited for the bus to come home from HS. This was about 3rd and Cleveland ave, just north of downtown square(ice skating ring in the winter).
  18. I don't think it is that big of deal to get pets on a plane, but did you have to buy her a seat?
  19. I've wondered myself if I couldn't sell my worn out jeans and make a killing? Typically the knees end up blowing out, along with splitting the crotch out from shrinking up and bending over too far. Stupid rich people that want to look like they "work". Perfect match. New Levi's are $60/pair for my boot cut style, wonder if I could recoup my money after a few years of wearing them?
  20. Yup, parking brake on the floor. Usually just a vague inference.....I made sure my truck had spring brakes before I bought it. I didn't want to rely on a wood chock to make sure my truck was still sitting where I left it LOL!
  21. LIkely 50-55 mph.
  22. Thanks. I'm on someone else's video too. It's farther on the road out.
  23. Pretty solid truck for the money. What gears in the back? Road speed? (just curious)
  24. Cost for everything is relative to your area. I just had my hubs and rims blasted this spring(dustless blasting). I had $300? in it. He brought his trailer/equipment and did it in my driveway. Few hours and it was done. I'm sure if you have a portable guy in your neck of the woods you could do the same kind of deal on your frame. Tires? $400-600 depending on brand, and they can go higher for high end tires. I run 22.5" Toyo on mine and they were $400 each just a few years back I put new steers on it. As for which truck? Buy the best you can afford. Try to make sure all the big mechanicals are in good shape, you don't want to have to put engine/trans/rearends in it. Rust is common and will just have to find the best you can. All depending on your capabilities and/or how much you can spend to have it done. I bought my B for basically $2500. I've done near everything but put a transmission in it over the last 17 yrs. Every few years I find another project to tackle. I'd have to do some math to figure out what I have tied up in it, though I know it's not a large sum. I keep it running(as I need it). Some buy a project, tear it apart and never see the light of day again. It can be a daunting task.
