  1. Welcome from SW PA!
  2. 6 inch stream of snot? That right there makes you a pro! My best is about 2.5" and I'm a helluva lot further north than you.
  3. Shouldn't that have been posted in "Wicked Wednesdays"?
  4. Welcome. Nice little fleet you have!
  5. Welcome!
  6. I forgot about this shot. It was eventually converted to a straight truck and, afiak, is still delivering building materials locally.
  7. First of 3 R models I drove for Shuster's. 1984 R685T with an EM6-250, 5 speed, and 4.00 rears.
  8. That would give the other large cars a run for their money.
  9. Someone did a very nice job of fabricating those fenders to make the truck look oem.
  10. I think it's about time I rearrange the furniture in this room so I don't have my back to the door. Good job of gittin-r-done this week and living to tell about it, Tom. I used to run many of those roads in winter with single axle tractors and while I wasn't pleased, I kept my cool and made it through. I'm afraid this line haul gig, however, has spoiled me and many of those same situations might leave me crying like a little girl.
  11. This thread makes me feel awfully intellyjint. I've only done 3/4 of this stuff. Is the US Xpress stuck on the Tail of the Dragon? That's a subject in itself the way it eats the big carrier, GPS using, two week wonders for lunch.
  12. Lord, you can't go back there!
  13. The seller wrote : "Good for a custom/rat project." I'm glad it ended up where it did.
  14. Normal is those temps that the weatherman shows to make you feel worse because it's nowhere near that. I think they pull those numbers out of there ass..er..."high pressure systems".
  15. You deserve to rant. Stupid crap like that is all too common when a big truck needs road service. I hope you're rolling soon. I used to run 350 from Bald Eagle to Phillipsburg as a shortcut to 322 when heading west. I hope you're at leastin a spot where you are visible from a distance.
  16. When my Mom died there were 4 little ones at home. I was the youngest at 2 1/2 and my oldest sister was 7. My Dad tried raising us but was also trying to work a full-time and a part-time job. It got to be too much and we eventually went to live with 2 of our Aunts. One family already had 2 daughters and the other had 3. It wasn't until I was older that I could truly understand and appreciate their selflessness. We were split up, but lived about 1/2 hour apart but My Dad would take us for the day on Saturday and the families got together at one of the houses every Sunday. I have one vivid memory of my Mom as well as photos and a cassette tape of her voice from my cousin's birthday party in 1964. Despite the loss our family suffered, I never once dared to feel sorry for myself and owe a debt of gratitude to my Aunt and Uncle that I could never repay. Like yourself, they were just being family.
  17. A Mack with spokes. I feel as if I'm looking at porn without having to worry about the Mrs. walking in. Sitting an hour and a half for free sucks, but at least you spent your time wisely.
  18. Looks like the 685 is just "semi-retired". Oh yeah. They were at the end of South St., right on the water. That's how I remember their tractors also. The only difference would be tandem axles and possibly black spokes, but I'm 99% sure that was the paint scheme.
  19. I just learned something the hard way. Even sweet tea through the nose will give you a burning sensation.
  20. No shit? Volvo had no interest in the history of a great American truck builder? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around that one!
  21. You certainly did a good job of avoiding decent weather, the only green you saw was in the Kerr picture. You made it home safe, and that's all that matters.
  22. He still has a father and you still have a son. You, your son, and Mrs. P have dealt with more tragedy than any family should have to endure. My hat's off to you for the sacrifices you've made to give this boy the life that every kid deserves. What is his name?
  23. Mother Nature has been unmerciful to you folks in the east this year. Hopefully the weather will improve to "normal" winter soon. Help is definitely on the way. I saw probably 100 or so of out of town power trucks running east over the course of 3 nights this week.
  24. Welcome!
