  1. It sounds as if they had no idea they were getting involved in something that was so much more to it's employees and customers than just a truck manufacturer.
  2. I see you got the buzzard mesh for the cab. Better safe than sorry. Good luck with it.
  3. K*** must have wanted it badly.
  4. Welcome! ..but NO wimmin! We're trying to keep it classy here. Boobies
  5. You don't need help, just a dentist.
  6. The original post and article are sad reminders of what Mack the corporation and Mack trucks used to be. I was already lighting a cigarette at the mention of the E9.
  7. Cleveland Brothers on Paxton St in Harrisburg used to have 2 on their front lawn. I believe that's Smith running the Cleveland Brothers tractor-trailers.
  8. Nice finds and I think Vinny speaks for all of us when he said
  9. Wazzuuuuuuuuup!!!
  10. The DM looks good for a pre-'73. I think those are septic tanks for the White House. There should be several more to follow.
  11. The road into the plant was renamed "Volvo Way". Sickening.......
  12. Google Earth shows aerial views of it on 11/24/2006 and prior if you "view historical imagery". Most pics are fuzzy but there are a few good ones. It was closer to the corner of 12th and 40th. I grew up on Long Island and even out there every kid knew of it. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/07/nyregion/thecity/07truc.html?_r=0
  13. There was some discussion on another site about that. My guess was a Brockway, but now it's called "gone".
  14. That's near Galloway. I passed it 3 times thinking I'd stop and get a pic the 4th time through. That didn't happen.
  15. Good to see the finished product. The truck looked great. Once you've had dark, you never go......back.
  16. Was there a practical reason for the raised section on the top of the hood?
  17. Anyone know if the Chuck Stop on RT 41 in Gap, PA is still open? The owner passed away a few years ago but was quite a character. He would walk around to each table telling stories and doing card tricks. It sure was a nice way to wind down at the end of the day.
  18. Lose the canopy over the fuel island and hang a Coca-Cola sign on the red brick building and voila! it's 1975.
  19. I ate at Dean's a few times when I drove for Shuster's, 2004-2008. Back then it had good food, good prices, and a friendly staff. It was exactly what you'd expect to find in an old school diner. That pic is of the Bedford South plaza on the eastbound side. Rather than tear it down and rebuilding, it was gutted and modernized and now features and awesome collection of turnpike history and memorabilia. The upper level windows were once a second floor bunk room for truckers. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and have some time.
  20. Truck fans everywhere owe him a debt of gratitude for taking so many pics back and the day and sharing them so unselfishly with the world. R.I.P. Mr. Bedell.
  21. If yes, please do not post the next picture in the series. I can relate to what other dog is going through . I have to squat to pee if the temp is below 50 degrees.
  22. Nice fit at the steel mill! The I-280 bridge is a sight to see at night, but it sometimes gets a bit breezy up there.
  23. Welcome! That's a nice old camper.
  24. I rarely drive that stretch of 201 and don't think I've ever seen a Marmon, but you have piqued my interest. There are a couple of Marmons in the PGH are pulling steel that I see maybe 1-2 times a year.
