  1. There was an article in Overdrive about these, they were referred to as the "Double Eagle" and I'm almost certain the one in yourpic is an actual production model. IIRC the Overdrive article was about one of the big shows of that particular year. Looking at the roof, the blue one appears to be home made.
  2. Looks great as is, Brian!
  3. Very nice. Good to see there are many drivers who take pride in their Macks, old and new.
  4. My Aunt and Uncle had a Marlin like that, only it was yellow. I believe theirs was a '66. NCPD had navy blue shirts and pants with a medium blue tie for many years.
  5. Deer Park water is considered fancy in my house but then again, we're upper white trash. That chicken on the grill looks like it's ready to kick your ass for what you did to it.
  6. Nice catches on the older stuff and that K-Five Granite is sharp!
  7. Nice album. I see you turned a Li'l Red Express into a Big'un. I remember when they first came out and thought it was just some goofy cosmetic stuff. I was wrong.
  8. That's a very nice MH and if you squint hard enough, Rifleman kinda looks like Chuck Connors. Ken, I see a Cornbinder in the background that's painted in your livery.
  9. That's because we're beyond description.
  10. Btw Tom, I glad your boss gave you some peace of mind and told you not to worry about it. I hope he has the time and resources to get it thrown out or at least reduced by several thousand $$. I know Pitt Ohio would be all over this but we have a good sized safety department. I get headaches and nausea trying to keep up with new and changing regulations, but I'm pretty sure this will impact your personal CSA score. Not a big deal since I have a hunch you don't plan on changing employers soon but under these circumstances it's still BS.
  11. Good thing the freight was round.
  12. It does look pretty clean, too bad the original cab didn't survive.
  13. Of course that's what he does all day it's easy money. He'd have to to write a helluva lot of 40 mph in a 35 tickets to equal the revenue of one overweight truck. The contractor you delivered to needs to get their shit together. It's that kind of ignorance that could get a driver in an even worse situation that you were in, but I'm guessing they are not going to assume any responsibilty for this. Nice pics.
  14. I enjoyed driving a Volvo but you're right about the looks. I can see the beauty in most trucks but that was one of the few that I'd driven that I wouldn't turn around and look at while walking away.

  16. All of the UPS MH's I've seen had single round headlights. Still nice finds.
  17. Delores?
  18. Hell, yeah!
  19. Nice looking combo. I think the tail of a '57 would look even better.
  20. That's a sad story. Here's a few more pics showing the amount of destruction caused by the failed dam. http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/hsem/PhotoLibrary/techdisasters.html
  21. I've hit so many friggin' deer since I moved to PA 21 years ago that I'm starting to enjoy it. Lucky for me, most have been in a company truck but with the few I've nailed with personal vehicles I've always turned it in to State Farm and it's always been covered by comprehensive with a lower deductible than collision and never an increase. Hopefully you can do the same since, as mentioned above, it was not an at fault accident. At least you kept it on the road and upright.
  22. It does look like an ex-Klapec. The 60 Series Detroits have a tried and true reputation and I can tell you from personal experience that you'd be hard pressed to find a quieter, smoother riding, better handling, more comfortable aero truck than a Volvo VN. Best of Luck and I hope you make lots of money with it.
  23. Saw it on the news also. Excellent story.
