  1. Tom Millard put a lot of Dynamat in his fathers Brockway 361 when he restored it. Do not know if he did the roof??? Here is a link to that restoration.. The cab interior is probably about page 30?? http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1044
  2. Here is a link to some Australian antique trucks on tour. Several Macks included.. The Hume Highway is similiar to our historic Route 66. http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/73832/haulin-the-hume-2015
  3. Dave What Joe said X2!!!
  4. Joe I have a pair of decent fenders that I bought at Buddy Sombart's auction.. I think they are off a 360? Brocky
  5. I think ole Luke put a little TOO much weight ahead of the landing gear!!
  6. While you are soaking things be sure to keep spraying your solvent on the cam followers / Tappetts as they can freeze up and give you a stuck engine.
  7. Good time to check around if someone is coming up to York or Macungie??
  8. Another thing to try is after loading the cylinders with solvent. Make sure the tranny is in neutral, put a breaker bar and socket on the nut on the front of the crank, then put a bottle jack under the end of the breaker bar and jack it just enough that there is a little of the weight of the truck on the breaker bar. Walk away for a few days and let the solvent and gravity do the work!! When the truck drops, jack it up again.
  9. Rob It is similiar to what the Aussies call an SAR, but the hood does not slope enough?
  10. This is Michelle Cole's, of Smithville TX, LTL in the Texas wild flowers that she posted on the Just Old Trucks site.
  11. Mackdaddy I agree with you.. I drove one for Matlack in 1970. Could come out of Albany NY grossing in the high 70's on the NY Thruway, get in 5th, and never shift all the way to Syracuse. It was a combo that a newbie could not kill, and the old hand could sit back and relax..
  12. Randy Good story. I am NOT calling BS!!! I am assuming that 309 was a 4 lane that went over the mountain where 78 does today as 78 was not built until into the late 80's?? I was not in the area til the mid 70's.. And we had to go thru town on old US 22.
  13. That is a good looking R model wrecker.. With it to back up your Brockway 459 you can move anything your need to.. But I do not blame you for keeping it sorta private.. Your choice of jobs in your time frame and weather!! None of the hassells of commercial towing..
  14. Enjoy all the back roads pictures... Vlad must be right.. The Winfall Wimmin must have left.. OD couldn't find any this week??
  15. We have had Yuengling in South Carolina for about 3 years now.. Can have it regularly now instead of just when I brought it home from the daughters..
  16. Glenn That would depend on what the sludge inside the tranny looks like??? I would pull the shift tower and look.. It is about six of one and a half dozen of the other which way to bring the tranny out if necessary??? Partly depends on the tools and jacks available..
  17. Strong Arms!!!!! Several ways.. stripped that far down a boom jack (engine lift) should pic it, A strong overhead beam and a cumalong or chain hoist, Excavitor or back hoe, Bucket loader, ETC
  18. I will beat Yardo to this.. Have you sent the serial number to the Mack Museum????? They will provide a lot of info for a donation..
  19. Daave Good to see you out and about.. Hope Suzie is still recovering per schedule..
  20. And then cut across the parking lot so they can get out the driveway ahead of you, then wait for umpteen cars so they can make a left turn across 4 lanes of traffic!!
  21. Was he getting paid by the hour??? Or just Plum Lazy??? Thankfully you have the patience of a tanker yanker.. I might have been tempted to hand out an "attitude adjustment"
  22. This man must have recorded over 200 songs..from 1947 to 2003(??).. If you search You Tube you will find some that are just the album cover, some a series of stills, and some an actual video with either him or trucks, including road trains.
  23. Here is a link to some good music
  24. Sorry to hear about the cold.. Luckily I have not had one yet this winter.. BUT I got my hair cut yesterday!!!!
  25. Vlad Will have to wait for Joe D to answer your question, But here is the Brockway that is in the air..
