  1. TJC, I think I know the truck you are speaking of.. It is called "UGLY" and has a Jersey personalized plate that says UGLY. Painted all white.. just went thru my Macungie pictures and it apparently was not ugly enough for me to take a picture!!!
  2. In reference to the above posts, You must remember that the two primary qualifications to become a politician at any level from local to national is to be::::1 A LIAR and 2 A THIEF!!!!!!!!!!

    Shop Talk

OK!!!! The word residential answers my question of single drive with a lazy lift axle,,
  4. I like the idea of a calendar!!! An all MACK calendar!!! Maybe Barry can contact Richard Hain of the Green Magazine.. Apparently about every 50 years or so the dates on the old calendar match the upcoming year. They produce a calendar each year with pictures of John Deere tractors from the old year that the dates match the new year.. email: info@greenmagazine.com
  5. Mark is correct.. Since the model number ends in 1 T and not 2 T's I am assuming it was originally a single axle, now with an air ride tag axle (lazy axle in Aussie). The mid 60's Coupe cab White 4000's with a tag axle I drove in the early 70's, the steering axles were so worn out that when running empty you had to add a little air to the Tag axle to keep the front from wobbling a lot!!!! Also Bobtailing a little air in the tag helps with braking..
  6. Paul Thanks for the video.. If you go back to your warped picture in the "Toughest Truck" topic that I guessed as a 257 this video sorta confirms it.
  7. It is different from most of the oilfield trucks I have seen.. Unusual to see the 5th wheel right side up. The majority of the oilfield winch trucks I have seen had just the pin and the 5th wheel was mounted upside down on the float.. No gin poles???? What is the crosswise pipe ahead of the 5th wheel for??? Would not mind having it in my barn, BUT my checkbook is not that BIG!!!
  8. LYK: I do NOT think(???) That the Canadian / Aussie B doubles are allowed in the States???? Just the A hitch for double / triple Pups and full length "Turnpike" Doubles.
  9. Looks Good!!! Genuine "Yankee Ingenuity" this far south of the Mason Dixon Line!!!!!
  10. Great work Tommy::: Thanks for taking the time to build the album..
  11. Bob The ATCA Macungie dates are always the Friday and Saturday of Fathers Day Weekend in June.. Check out a 2024 calendar..
  12. I am the same way!! From here to the Bushnell FL show I run 221, 1, and 301... From here to Alaska we only ran the interstates when the old US Highways got on and off for a ways..
  13. I visited the late Ian Lee's home shop, as well as meeting him at Tony Champion's open house, in August of 2015. All the Aussies I met on that trip seemed to be square shooters.. Since you are located in Canada some of the old British Commonwealth tariffs and shipping may apply?????? Have you contacted Tony Champion looking for parts????
  14. I will be looking forward to seeing them.. You and Zina have a safe trip back home..
  15. Being from the land of Fruits and Nuts almost anything is bound to be absurd!!!
  16. The sausage with peppers and onions looks good!!!! $8 for a cheese burger??? They must be the same a Charlotte: Charge race day prices for ALL events!!!!!!
  17. Have a safe quiet Turkey Day..
  18. Paul: Contact Ed Edminston in Dubbo NSW. He imported a 1976 model 761 with 8V92 in it from the states.. He also attended the Brockway Weekend in Cortland NY several years.. He can probably give you a good history of Brockways in Australia???
  19. The above sounds good. Do not know what your horseback dates are, BUT the Brockway weekend in Cortland NY is the second weekend of August..
  20. Buying big parts, engines , cabs, and the like up here either in the States or Canada sounds like it might be a nightmare in exporting???? Especially if you buy in Canada then come thru the States to get to your exporting container.. And what does Australia let you import???? I have driven across both Canada and Alaska a couple of times and still recommend renting a small/midsized motor home (caravan)..
  21. I still have a house phone!!! I am not married to my cell!!! An older style flip phone.. It is usually on the kitchen counter or in the truck cup holder.. With my bad ears I can put the house phone on speaker and hear it OK.. Especially the voice mail part..
  22. Just like the Yellow Pages in the phone book... I can never find what I am looking for!!
  23. Paul: Before we came down in 2015 for the ATHS Tour, I went to the AAA service center and got an International Drivers licence. When I asked him if it was good for a big truck, after explaining why we were going Down Under, He got his stamp back out and stamped another box on the form and said you are GOOD to go. Never used it!!! Instead of buying something up here check into the Camper / Motor Home / Caravan rental companies... The 4 person ones mounted on a F-350 or 3500 chassis would be excellent for touring with just you and the Princess with NO need to worry about licencing and insurance. You might want to check about one way usage???
  24. DCW: I can drive anything as long as I and/or the Truck DO NOT get paid.. DAs Geoff says above check you home state laws.. If you can find the PR / desk bound officer for your "Diesel Cops" they will take the time to look up the law a LOT BETTER than the local DMV.. We even has one come to our chapter meeting, lay out the basics and answered a lot of questions.
  25. Down here it is labeled "interstate excepted" on the form you have to sign..
