  1. Bob Ditto on the legs!!!!! My wife found a cane with a flip down seat online and it is a lifesaver... You can see it in the last informal picture..
  2. Tom I am liking your green combo more and more!!!! Get the wheels and visor done and you will have a very SHARP truck!!!!!! And a whole lot cheaper than painting the whole thing..
  3. Just a thought?? Personally I would go for the dark green spokes and the light green on the rims.. Also a pair of "Hollywood Glaspak" mufflers so she will bark some???
  4. The interesting thing is "Where to hell is he????" Resign / drop out if the race for the most important job in the world by a Tweet????? Did he even send it or one of the Dumbocratic buddys???? Has not been seen on public news for a week???
  5. I would say marinate it good and charcoal or broil???
  6. I do NOT know what this country is coming to???? I expect to see serious violence at BOTH national conventions this year!!! Like the 1968 Democratic convention.. Could this be the opening shot of a civil war???
  7. And maybe (??) the bumper white also???
  8. Treated respectfully that R model will be a great workhorse on the farm for the rest of your life..
  9. They hold the reunion and show every 5 years, so 2025 will be the year. We were there 3 days looking at the about 1000 trucks in the show as well as God knows how many trucks permanently in buildings, sheds and out in the open. There are several walls of Haul of Fame drivers pictures and biography's. There is the Gahn (sp??) railroad museum next door, which I think has a separate entrance fee, and the KW museum building which is part of the whole complex. There are also some other tours available. We took a bus tour of the McDonald (??) mountain range. I think you read my report on the ATHS Down Under tour on the old Just Old Trucks website which is gone now.
  10. Paul, Thanks for the info.. I was so impressed by everything at Alice Springs, I probably did not read all the placcards completely.
  11. According to the placcarding at the Aussie Haul of Fame Museum in Alice Springs NT AU this is the first Road Train.. A civilized WW 2 Diamond T. That pile of drums is on the last trailer.
  12. You did NOT look too well at Macungie!!! There were several of them there..
  13. I have my show registration on the Pony Express and have a room in Cortland reserved.. Can I look for some of you to visit with??? Remember to keep the Mack logos undercover.. Some of the older die hard Brockway people still do NOT accept that Mack shut them down!!!!
  14. Bob, Sterling was out of the upper midwest (Chicago??), started as Sternberg but changed the name as WW 1 started.. Built a lot of large military 6X6's for WW 2 and continued to build chain drive trucks into the early 1950's when White Motor bought them.
  15. I will bet that the service department went "Hog Wild" when that rollback pulled into the lot?????
  16. Most of the BIG roll backs that long are used by the equipment rental companys.. Check the ones in your area to see if they are going to trade / update their equipment either at their location or their associated / nearby locations..
  17. There was a multi page topic on the Nairn Transportation truck busses on the old Just Old Trucks site, but all that info is lost. They ran tractor trailer busses with Marmon Herrington 4X4 and 6X6 tractors between Damascus and Baghdad, across the desert, as well as between other Mid East cities. I have also seen pictures of them in Australia.. I almost think Henry Ford had some running in Detroit during the War?? If Jeff Lakaszcyck checks in he might still have a lot of the Nairn info on his computer??
  18. Lets NOT open that can of worms again!!!
  19. City Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Also check out the availability / prices at the equipment rental places..
  21. Paul, You are being corrupted by Other Dog, BMT's #1 girl chasing pervert!!!!!
  22. The WHOLE blankety blank Northeast is way over taxed!!!!!!!
  23. The 78 Frtlnr I drove 900K miles with a big cam 1, we always had trouble with cam follower life.
  24. Yes, It is always best to pull into the scales and let them see the antique/historical plates... And yes a lot of the Diesel cops like to look at the older vehicles.. On our way to Des Moines IA The Iowa scale lady (50 y/o +/-) pulled me around back, and basically all she wanted to know was if the Diamond T in my trailer was mine and not for sale, making sure I was NOT commercial.. Do not know if she noticed the farm plates on my 3500?? When I had to get in the trailer to get the DT registration she oohed and aawed about the DT.
  25. Just heard from my S-I-L in Conn.. He had a tree come down on his garage.. NO structural damage, but 5 holes in his roof..
