  1. I have been pricing them.. Plan on $14-15K for whatever brand.. That is turnkey...
  2. You gotta plan better!!!!!! Always plan on a couple of days to be a tourist!!!!
  3. Dean, send an email to Doug Maney??? I have his address if you need it.. PM/Email me..
  4. Check wit Doug Fetterly of Harrisville NY. He will probably be at the VTOP shoow in Bushnell FL on the Jan 25 &25 weekend. If he does not have one he knows the real name and contact info for past user "U Model Nut" who might have one.
  5. And they must pop out at automatically and set the parking brakes at a set low pressure value.. If I remember correctly it is about 60 PSI ??????? Most roadside "Diesel Cop" inspections the cop will remove the emergency line from the trailer and record the PSI that the button pops.. If it is too low you are grounded!!
  6. When planning a trip to the Mack Museum also add the America on Wheels museum downtown Allentown to your list.. It was established by both Mack and Andretti money.
  7. Denny, Thank You for explaining the 4X4 CF tractors. I was a dock foreman for Roadway in Syracuse at the time and only saw them going by on the adjacent Thruway.. The first 40ft double's Roadway tried on the NYS Thruway, they took an R 700 in the shop in Akron and installed a Rebuilt 8V71 with the biggest injectors available and changed the rears to 4:56.. Top end 58 MPH!!!! And bought/built 3 lead trailers and 1 tandem converter. The first operation was Buffalo to Syracuse only, then they expanded to Utica also.. I left Roadway before they expanded to Worcester Mass..
  8. I can remember seeing them in their yard at the York PA terminal when I went by on I-83.. Probably also saw them on the PA Pike but newer paid that close attention 😟 I also remember the seeing the "Block Tractors", a regular tractor tractor with a large concrete block in place of the 5th wheel and a normal pintal hitch on a reinforced rear crossmember, pulling a single pup across the 40 miles(???) of I-90 across Pennsylvania from Ohio to New York State. CF also had some of their 4X4 "Mountineer" tractors based out of Buffalo for awhile when the NYS Thruway was enforcing a two driving axle rule for pulling doubles.
  9. Consolidated Freightways Had what were called "Pennsylvania Suicide Doubles" Running between York PA and Akron Ohio as by latching the front trailer to the tractor frame and pulling a regular pup trailer it became a "Truck Trailer" combination in Pennsylvania.. The long wheelbase and long sliding 5th wheel tractors and lead trailers were custom built with folding landing gear and were kept on on that run only, pulling a rear pup from elsewhere in their system. I think(??) there was a big article on them in the ATHS WOT several years ago about the the time ATHS bought the big neon sign????
  10. While traveling across Canada I saw many loading docks which projected out from the door enough so that the lead trailer of a "B" train could back under it and have access to the doors on the lead trailer.. Paul, Are Australian are loading platforms set up the same??????
  11. GW Thank you or the description!!! I think I remember seeing a picture of the bedbugger (Allied???) "C" train you mentioned but have never seen one in person.
  12. GW, I need a better description of what you are calling a "C" train?????? UPS used a lot of low connect A hitch converters and of course the triples out west..
  13. That is a fancy, about 1953 or 54, 100 series Brockway with a 3 piece windshield and a Queen Anne door..
  14. JC YES!! Brockway Called it the Huskydrive.. With a 5 speed tranny and 2 speed rear that you only used in 5th gear. Also the had 2 Husky's mounted on the hood.
  15. NO!!! But someone must have thought it would be some extra cooling??? The oilfield welders were artists at creating front protection!!!!
  16. That is a great find!!!! I am a big fan of oilfield trucks!! If you are planning on pulling a grain trailer, go ahead and remove the wrecker lift from the back, BUT I would leave the headache rack and the winch on it!! You might have to pull a combine out of the mud one day!!! The engine is a Cummins, with compression release and Jakes, Since there is no plate on the auxiliary drive, or I am looking at the wrong picture(??), it is hard to tell??? Look on the drivers side front of the engine at about 4 o'clock for the aux drive.. It should have a plate on it showing engine specs. I do NOT see any injectors on the side of the heads so it should be an 855 CI engine. Possibility a 290 or 335?? With all the extra switches under the dash you might be right of it being municipal in the past??? Sorry I can not help more, but I am sure you will get more responses..
  17. Here are a couple more pictures:
  18. Bob, It is definitely a place to put on your "Bucket List" to include as a detour in any trip the East...
  19. I am glad you enjoyed the Keystone.. You can spend all day there and not see everything!!! Leon Ledford and I spent a half day there about 10 years ago on the way home from Gerhart's Lititiz PA show...

  23. Everyone have a Merry and Safe Christmas..
  24. Tommy, You are right on the Keystone or they might know of someone interested. You can use your membership in ATHS & ATCA to get advertisements in WOT and Double Clutch for your friend.. I would say it is in the 10 to 15k $$ figure.
  25. Merry Christmas back at you and also to all the members here at BMT!! Have safe travels..
