  1. Good Luck, what are you going to do? Who is going to replace you do you know?
  2. whats that about the sausage? you are going to catch it??? or toss it???? I am more of a taco fan myself
  3. I would take it off and repair like rob said, I just had one fixed and a step repaired on the other tank for $100. If I had a spool gun would have done it myself. If one tank is corroded that bad on the strap the other one that is not leaking is probably not that far from leaving stains on the concrete. When I put it back on the truck I was going to cover the weldwith an epoxy/steel (quick steel) http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Service/quiksteel_epoxy_putty.htm. Have used in the past with great results.
  4. just looked at the ad seems kinda crazy to have that many hours and such low miles must be disconnected
  5. funny I thought it would have been bananas, did you read the article that is linked to the manufacture jobs are claiming the same thing but supposedly make 2-3 times as much as adriver, around here a driver makes 13-15 an hour and maunfacturing is 8-10 per hour long way from 100K
  6. I have spent many months (years) in less than desirable countrys shaking sand from my boots and driving truck with no A/C and for all its faults America is still better. I will say Germany was not bad, really liked the beer, fast cars and women not much diffrent from here except Americans frown on topless beachs and red light districts.
  7. Looks good, congrats! looks like more trucks than what showed up at the Iowa 70 Petro trucker jamboree in June.
  8. I switched from redwings to tony lamas, made in the the usa and last longer less price and I dont have to special order. I used to wear the rw 877, now tony lamas TW2002
  9. Pull the plugs and soak the cylinders with PB blaster then fill with diesel, put the plugs back in to keep debris out and check to keep full, let set until your friend comes with the tractor and then fill cylinders with engine oil let set until you after pull the gear box, then with the plugs out have your friend pull the truck with it in low gear and let the clutch out. Make sure that the crankcase is full of oil, once the motor is free have him pull you to build oil pressure. The longer it can soak the better, if it takes a while to break free you may want to rock the truck back and forth. You should hear if the valves are stuck, if they are pull the valve covers and lube. I have had success doing it this way provided that there was not a busted rod through the block. Once it is free drain and fill the crankcase with diesel and use the starter to turn over to clean the oil galleys and from the sludge, crank it for long enogh to build oil pressure then let it set to drain back I would do that several times, then drain and refill with oil and try to see if you can get it to start and run, if you can then let it run and warm up and idle for awhile, then you can check compression and such.
  10. I seen it this afternoon, the picture and explination does not show why the right fender looks out of wack or what the inside looks like and whats missing, looks like it needs beeter pictures and description
  11. I have used the duplcolors rust converter with good success comes in a spray can put coat on left it came back hit with wire brush and applied then after that used self etching primer then went from there, easy to use as they were both in spray cans.
  12. Still working on her so not out driving yet and parking at the truck stop, in the yard around the shop seems to set pretty quick
  13. I would use stainless screws and automotive body sealant
  14. I bought 3 sheets at National Fabric Co Inc 901 S 7th St Kansas City, KS 66105 (913) 281-1833 had all diffrent flavors mine were 39 x 65 was $7 per sheet waterproof Also dug in the rements and came up with enough material to do the head liner and seats, total for everything was just under $50.
  15. Back in the late 80's I drove a IH R-210 with the 450 gas engine it was a good running truck, I think it was an old mixer truck, it looked like the b 81 series, it was used on a farm to haul bulk potatos and pulp wood, it was a tandem axel that we put a rear floating tag on, it had twin sticks, good running truck for a gasser.
  16. Maddog, Thanks for the tip about the bolt, I have done that in the past and made guide pins for transmission and hydraulic covers and such. The fenders are so bulky and I dont have a lot help so any tip to make it easy is helpful. 41chevy, Thanks, thats what I will do
  17. What works best getting ready to shoot some primer than paint, is it best to put the fendors on then paint or leave them off and wrestle them on afterwards and touch them up?
