Thanks fellas, I think reason for the fuel hike is to pay for the next load of crude, not the stuff they already have

And were else are we gunna go

Thinking this bit of excitement in the middle east might want to be over soon otherwise your fearless leader might not be to popular with the people after 6 months of high prices

Anyway, it still beats walking

I guess the U.S. oil mighten need to have as much travelling through the Strait of Hormuz as Australian oil

Things like this really effect Australia as a lot of our exports go through this shipping channel as do our imports

The flow on effect can be quite dramatic

But maybe it is a small price to pay to sort the mess out over there

Apparently the up take of electric cars in Australia has sky rocketed since this layest bun fight began

Who knows, not me, that's for sure

Well we’re stuck here with newsomes overpriced gasoline I didn’t know this till recently, but 80% of our gasoline comes from them that explains why it’s so expensive

I dont know why fuel is so high..  The smart T.V. people say that we only get about 1% of our oil from Iran, and that the U.S. and Venezuala produce more oil than Iran and Russia combined.  L.N.G. is another fuel we are rich in.. Anyway,, Just curious.  I have not bothered to read 10 different web site news outlets yet.

Our diesel prices have been jumping around like a "button on a backhouse door" at the same station for the past 2 weeks. Went from $3.19 before the war started to $3.49 to $4.19 to $4. 59 to $4.99 to $5.09 then up to $5.39 over the last weekend, then back to $4.99 on Thursday (and I bought 30 gal) and today it is back to $5.09?????????

Brocky

I have done the conversion  for you all

U.S.  dollars $8.28 per U.S. gallon for diesel nearest fuel place to me in Australia

I guess it is all relative and good for us all

NewZealand is even worse than Australia at the moment

A few points.

A global oil glut for over a year has largely prevented us from feeling the closure of the strait. But now that cushion is evaporating.

Oil is different around the world. The oil needed depends on what you plan to do with it. e.g. produce plastics, motor oil, gasoline, ect.

The explosion/fire at the diesel processing facility within the Valero plant (Port Arthur) has a bit to do with our rising diesel prices. But be aware there is a global shortage of diesel.

Yes a lot depends on we're your respective country is in the workd and the lack of friendly waters to sail through

The "tyranny of distance" still applies to Australia and NewZealand

It really effects our countries when things like this happen

That been said, I wouldn't live anywhere else but Australia
