We had our stew yesterday, and it was good. Very good. You know what my uncle Buck used to say- "it's all good, some is just better than others".

Not too many people came though, but it was a good time. Zina's new '55 Ford pickup was delivered too.

I hated to leave the pot on the stand last night, but we jarred the last 11 quarts at dark. Then we brought them in and put them in the canner and canned it before we went to bed. Had to do it in 2 batches because they all wouldn't fit in the canner. So now I have to go outside and clean and re-season the stew pot and put it away.

Maybe it’s a model  lol the stew looks great … but I don’t see any meet

This is 2 gallon size bags of beast and I of chicken. It seemed like a lot, until I put it in the stew pot. Then it doesn't look like it even has any meat in it.

That's a 9 gallon pot, and I put a gallon of diced tomatoes, a gallon each of crushed tomatoes, corn, lima beans, peas, a 5 lb. bag of potatoes, and a 3 lb. bag of onions. And 2 small cans of carrots. I put a bag of frozen green beans out of our garden in it too.

But it was very tasty though, I cut the beef up into small pieces so you'd still get beef in every bite! 🤣

I cleaned the pot today, but I was afraid to re-season it. I usually boil it out after I clean it, then dump it and coat it with Crisco again. But it's so windy I'm afraid of a spark blowing over into the woods, then we'd be in deep doo-doo as the saying goes.
