While that figure is true according to several sources, it is also misleading.

Mostly it consisted to 2 groups, those crossing, then seeing a emigration officer (not a judge) and not found to have credible claim to enter and sent back, and 2) those that have crossed before, sent back and crossed again. That is very different than scooping people off the street, saying they are "illegal" without any proof or verification on the governments part, and wisked off to another country.

The very big difference is that they were either caught when crossing, or had been previously identified and when caught again given the choice of fighting while in lock-up or "voluntary" deportation, most chose being deported over being locked up. in both cases their identity was verified.

Today we have people being deported in the night who HAVE seen a judge and HAVE been granted the right to stay. We have people being picked up and deported without the chance to prove if they are a citizen or have seen a judge and.or been granted the right to stay.We have those picked up because they "look Latin" and have a similar name.

Just because ICE accuses someone of being "illegal" doesn't make it so. If you are accused of a crime, that doesn't make you guilty, The police, be it your local town cop or an ICE agent doesn't get to be all three, judge jury and executioner. THAT IS OUR SYSTEM and it keeps everybody safe from being railroaded.

I have no problem sending "crosser" back at the point of entry if they don't meet the criteria for one of the programs that let them stay. I don't have a problem deporting those with orders of removal if they have them as long as time is taken to verify their identity (finger prints). I have a real big problem when people are picked up off the street (not at/ near the boarder) and not given a chance to contest what they are being accused of but has not been verified by the courts.

I was born here, lived all my life here, but I can not produce a piece of paper that "proves" I am a citizen while on the street, If you apply the same rule that you do to Juan, to me, then what is keeping me out of Salvadorian prison? Nothing other than I am white and look anglo. That is not rule of law, that is harkoning back to the days of slavery that every black person was a slave until proved otherwise.

You can't "suspend" the rule of law because it is "inconvenient" to reach your desired outcome. I am not say we should not deport, only that we must follow the law to do so.

If you have a open deportation order, don't let the gate hit you in the butt on the way out, That is the difference between prior admin's (of both parties) and the current one who "doesn't know" if he has to uphold the constitution!

This admin is sending letters to citizens to "self deport". which just shows they have no idea who they are deporting.

The difference was explained in my post above. either caught at the boarder, and ruled not eligible for one of the programs, or caught after being expelled the 1st time where at deportation order had been already issued on that person, that is the difference.

Bush, Obama, Trump (1) and Biden all did it the legal way, this time they are not following the law.

I have no problem expelling those without the legal right to be here, but do it according to the law, you can't say "we don't have time to follow the law therefore we will ignore it">

I wish i could be there to see who is being deported .  Democrats say everyone is, but i cant imagine that .  I feel like its criminals at many different levels. I would like to think that they are offered a shot at citizenship, which is what i thought the self deport part was about. Expired Visa's are also a reason for deportation, if they havent trued to renew it.

. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

So, you'd be fine with the next administration deciding that the 2nd amendment is causing too many deaths  so they can ignore it? round up all the guns, deport those that resist! I'd love to hear what you would say then!

T They all arrived into the USA with the required documentation.

There was no "required documentation", People paid for passage, and went though "Ellis Island"or other entry port. Most had nothing, the lucky ones could name someone who was a family member who were going to take them, but many did not.

There was no getting a visa at an embassy in some other country. There was no "pre-screening", they came off the boat and if the US denied entry, the US often had to pay to send them back, many had nothing or 50 cents left when they arrived,

My Grandfather came in that way, through New York, but he had an Uncle who had already made it in. Someone has to be 1st.
