I picked up the engine/trans ( a 283/5spd from an '80 gravel truck) for one of my B-61's the other day and have been pondering what colour i want for it. I power washed it and cleaned it up and it was a dark reddish colour (that I don't like). I have been thinking on this for awhile and can't seem to be able to think of a colour that makes me go "THAT'S the one!!". Don't like the gold or grey that mack used. Right now i am leaning towards Ford green as used on the Model A's and early flatheads or (some may want to sit down for this) Caterpillar yellow with black valve covers. Any and all suggestions on what would be a good colour choice (preferably with pics) will be appreciated.

Should look pretty sexy I would of thought

The red Mack used is pretty um bland, Golds ok but everyone has gold

Thanks. I looked that colour up and it is somewhat similar (a little but brighter) to the early Ford green that I am considering.

In reality I like just about any color with chromed, or aluminum rocker covers if not black, or red wrinkle finish.

My personal preference is dark machine gray with chromed rocker covers on a Mack engine which is what is in my B-61.
