I have seen quite a few photo's of Australian woman with guns near a truck from this era
People were a lot tougher back then than we are today
Having said that we dunno whether hubby had got on the turps blown the dough at two up ( a Aussie coin game ) or maybe just was talking about trading the NR on a B model LOL

Only came across this thread today and Im blown away with it...Thanks Paul...To me those 30s/40s/50s trucks look better than todays plastic toys. Some have hardly any paint left on them never mind chrome...hell they have hardly any brakes left never mind the chrome🤣🤣🤣 Most enjoyable thread...

I really don’t know much about overweight. I’ve never had one.. but I know a buddy of mine got fired  $1400 .42 years ago for having placards on an empty trailer. I felt real bad for him. I mean, that was a lot of dough  for honest mistake. We were just running these things locally around town drop and pick a just didn’t notice them  grab and go operation … had to keep moving to make money… roadside inspection.

I don't think they would fare too well for very long...they are not intended to run full throttle all the time..is the horsepower rating the same for each?...brake horsepower vs. SAE net HP? I'm not sure it is the same...I should know that and I don't.

I'm sure somebody is rating something different today. 1000  ft.-lb. in these new pickups? Ya okay, I'd like to see your new Superduty pull 140,000 pounds up 12% grades all day like my old 350 Mack did, LOL

And all these kids on facebook claiming their Ram Cummins makes 4000 horsepower on the dyno, LOL

Ha ha well I’m not sure there might be a little truth to that towards the end of my driving career. I couldn’t believe how fast these guys were passing me on the hills with these huge camper trailers. They were just run right by me like I wasn’t moving. Bob
