Was fromout west somewhere. Was a cool 4200 IH there also. I just missed the B-model fire truck that was there. Same one thatwas sitting in Batavia. Popular Post Mackdaddy2030 Posted August 28, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted August 28, 2015 Lorig bought the Crystal Lake plant from Curran last year and got into the asphalt business.They bought some trucks at the auction, but I guess they don't know what they need for an asphalt truck.This is a really cool '08 Granite with MP8 485 and 13spd, but not the combo you want for asphalt. The truck has all steel everything, and a double frame. Trailer is a heavy spec 1/4 frame. The only thing about this combo that doesn't say "excavating spec" is it has air ride instead of Camelback. It wash 35,000# empty, lol. Not a very great truck for hauling asphalt, but it sure does look cool.They call the truck Mad Max. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get some pics of there six wheeler, which is an old S&K truck.And I forgot. I gues it was so wide that other trucks were still able to go around him. The other problem is that this state mandates that they have to have a certain percentage of minority help.So they have to use these clowns regardless, although I'm pretty sure they're fine with it because they bid these jobsfor $125 an hour to the trucks and then shave $20 or $30 off the top and then pay these idiots. So even if theseguys are running around here at 45mph because they are on the clock and they lose three trucks a week due to stupidity the contractor still comes out on top. Along 90 and the Elgin-O'hare there is about %90 garbage working out there.About two weeks ago my friend had his lowboy broken apart along 90 and was about to load a Volvo loader whenone of the dummies drove right into the back of the loader on the jobsite. Drove right into the counter weight. Duh!!!No problem though, just tied a rope around the light and drove off. I would be devastated if I did something that stupid tomy truck. That is at least five grand in damage to that truck, but I'm sure that guy will duct tape a headlight to itand run it. I guess he was a little shaken up but OK hows that for luck he retired this spring and came back for a couple weeks for some spending money then this happened.
