I sure doubt if it is the air conditioner!!!! I see a cable hooked to the tow eye,, Is there another truck pulling????

can't enlarge picture enough , looks as though it has an osculating 5th wheel. appears to be a cable both sides of front. be interesting truck to see side view as to whether the rear pusher axle is connected to the chain drive, which some were.

Apgar bro's

back  a" few "years ago while at Mack I installed at least 8-10 osculators on Blakeslee massive DM's. don't recall exactly but they may have been a modern day Apgar. two lock pins rear of deck similar. not sure of the locking slot on turn table.

While I was looking at that old rig, I was thinking the guy driving those things at that time. We’re probably thinking that was the best they were going to get compared to horses. Thanks for that.

When  Hallamore took over the Blakeslee account they had 37-trailer's all had slot's cut into upper-coupler to lock into the fifth wheel ....

Were those trucks 8X6 or 8X4?????

8X4. both front just steer if I remember correctly. another example of CT coming up with new axle/ weight laws!! mind boggling how some of the major construction companies were able to keep up with CT crap; ten wheels to triaxles to four axle to 10 wheeler with pup trailers . then the spread axles on drives ; now it's the five axles !!!

yep; two rear drives/ steer/ now there are two axles in front of drives. have seen Tilcons . almost sure O&G have them also. there's a name for that set up:: I don't remember, quad ??? impressive looking for around here ; doubt they are needed. I don't follow things as in years before. can state advantage other then higher weight brings more money to state.
