  1. Yeah we've got the same problem with Wolves here too. For some interesting reading look up the Yellowstone elk herd and its decline since the introduction of wolves. If memory serves me correctly I believe that herd declined 75% in the first five years and never has recovered. The sad thing is that was the herd that we trapped elk out of when we wanted to reintroduce them to their former haunts.
  2. Must not need tail lights in Columbus? Wouldn't think coyote hides would be any good. By now most of the guard hairs are gone due to heavy use and sticking to the snow and ice when they lay down. Plus those ugly brown ones back east don't bring much $$$. Must be a political statement?
  3. How about starting a Big Bud thread. They were ahead of their time offering a 600hp 4 wheel drive tractor in the '70's and they were built in rural Montana. They were heavy duty, fenders were 1"-1 1/8" solid steel, no ballast needed in the tires. They mostly used standard truck transmissions like the 13 speed road ranger. Here's a pic of one I saw today and a link to a video of the worlds biggest tractor. A V16 900hp screamin' demon. Bull husk, jumper and son eat your hearts out. Fwd, you will probably like the video and may even grow fond of this two stroke. 525 hp 50k axles http://www.williamsbigbud.com/about-us/
  4. No sir, it's been unseasonably warm the last 3 weeks or so. February 9 Choteau set all kinds of records with 73 degrees above zero, it's around 60 here now. Just been miserably windy with this warm weather. Can't get my truck out of 9th gear a lot of places on my way to unload. Uphill and a head wind or worse a cross wind.
  5. Thanks for the well wishes guys. Sure I'll miss grandpa but we are all relieved it's over.
  6. Wow! Last week they were full on production of the "new" vocational truck in that press release and this weeks press release they're done. I like swishy' idea if it would work.
  7. Well it was kind of a busy week for me. Had the go down to the bitterroot to help some friends which is about 5 hour drive for me. About forty five minutes from my destination I get a call that my grandpa had passed. He was nearly 84 with Alzheimer's so I think he had a pretty good run. So I had to finish up my business in the bitterroot drive back home so i could work Monday and drive over to the flathead on Tuesday to help out my family and had a military memorial service for grandpa on Thursday. Enjoy the pics. Saw a big Mack dump truck Saw a really cool weather vane Some scenery How you take care of your driveway in remote Montana Some old cars in a yard A really cool cabin on a cliff side with a sweet deck Been trying to catch this ol' boy that drives really clean originall farm rigs hauling grain
  8. So isn't what trump saying exactly what the dems been preaching about taxing the piss out of businesses who moved out of country BECAUSE dems ran them out of here in the first place with taxing the "rich" and God awful epa, osha and every other regulation? No one can afford to do business in the US. Too many freeloaders, and that's why we may never get on track, the government lets border jumpers INVADE our country, pays them more in handouts than many middleclass families make, rewards them by paying more money for more welfare babies, then the dems promise this huge ever growing ILLEGAL population more handouts and makes the argument it's " unconstitutional" to require id to vote and guess what they get elected the other side hides from even talking about illegal immigration and we ( the middle class) get screwed into paying for it and the left stays in power. Unless we stop the border jumpers and require voter identification we will never get a fair election again.
  9. Easy, they are here ILLEGALLY! No anchor baby bs, Mexico NEEDS US TO EXIST and if we start a tariff on everything they export to us pretty soon all those pesos add up to a big assed wall. Which neither is unconstitutional, they snuck in so its time to pay the piper and go home. We need a president that our enemies are scared of unlike this ball-less spineless chicken livered turd in the White House who repeatedly makes empty threats and let's our enemies make a fool of him again and again, who also will not call it Muslim terrorism. He said he was more than willing to let Russia and China deal with Isis unless they become a more direct threat to us. He proposed a flat tax, and if you're applauding apple for helping terrorism shame on you. Any company doing business in the USA should realize how blessed they are and do their damndest to help in any way they can to combat terrorism not bring up some hippy liberal shit about privacy when it's really about them wanting to keep their encryption as secret as possible which could affect them financially. So there it is Apple is worried about lining their own pockets rather than work with the fbi to solve this problem.
  10. Oh jeez talk about adding insult to injury.
  11. Whose strobe was reflecting off the stop sign the whole time I wonder?
  12. Why would it ruin clutch if the truck has low gears and an underdrive transmission which I'd bet it does?
  13. If they made news like that today I would watch it religiously. Love the USA pride along with the bragging that comes along with it.
  14. Very cool piece of history you have there.
  15. There's a company from Minnesota I believe and the trucks are white with gray and maroon on them and they do lots of heavy transport in my area ( like pictured above) with Titans. Next time I see them spending the night in my area I'll try and grab some pics.
  16. Doing some family research and came across this old phone book page with what appears to have B model mixers in the ad on the side.
  17. Holy smokes that's awesome
  18. Everyone of those dip $h!ts were far more fascinated by getting on tv and making an ass out of themselves then intelligently answering the question. Not one of them knew what it was and worse yet not one asked the interviewer what it was so they could answer intelligently.
  19. Is there a way that bmt can make exceptions at least for some of these guys who are literally a fountain of information to ensure it get on here and never gets lost?
  20. Here's an old pic of some relatives hauling logs in the flathead.
  21. Would hate to make ANY sudden movements with that load on.
  22. Certainly a unique looking truck.
  23. I agree college isn't necessarily the best path for everyone and vocational skills shouldn't be dismissed. in the end though, everyone has a choice to make and have to weigh out the pros and cons and that's where parenting comes in. It seems to me that everyone has their hand out in some way shape or form and always wants someone else to pay for it since the world is t fair. This is coming from an uneducated truck driver in his mid 30's with no loans other than my mortgage which is nearly paid off, no vehicle loans and about $6k in a student loan through WF (my wife just started her first year teaching this year) which will be paid off this year. I'm not trying to toot my own horn but I want to make the point clear I live with in my means. I drive older used vehicles instead of new ones like most my friends, I don't go on trips or vacations unless I have cash to do so. I'm not looking for pity in fact I'm proud that I'm not in debt up to my eyeballs like most people I know. More people need to live within their means and see how freeing it is not working to just scrape by, to see how much more fulfilling life is when have to wait and save up to buy something. Just my two cents. Have a good one.
  24. Like the old saying goes, if everyone told you to jump off a bridge would you? I adimently disagree with your point. If you can't afford to pay it back don't borrow it. Sounds like the same excuse i heard when the housing market tanked. People didn't want to pay back the huge mortgage that was way beyond their means because at that moment in time they were upside down in it. Once again not my problem. You borrow it you pay it back.
