  1. I just started a new album with a few pics from the show. Will be adding more tonite.
  2. B68's were gassers, diesel would have been swapped in,very common practice. What did you need to know about a quad???
  3. Are you sure there aren't breakers on the back of the flat steel panel? When they changed from fuses to breakers, they were mounted on the backside, you took the screws out of the panel and pulled it out to gain acess to them.
  4. That belongs to Mike Shaffer of Springfield,IL.He has several B models in his towing fleet.
  5. Anybody know if the Freedom Editions were consectitively serial numbered?
  6. They were actually "Freedom Edition"trucks, built to commerate the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. They had a picture of the Statue of Liberty on each side of the hood,or toolbox door on the MH version. They were painted gray, with red trim, and came with a special extended warranty. They could be spec'd with either the E6 or E9 V8,and the Superliners could be spec'd with several sleeper options. My '87 Freedom Superliner came with a 48" Double Eagle, unfortunately it was removed prior to me buying it.I've also seen them with 36 " Able sleepers, the hi rise 60"Able Penthouse sleeper, and a '66 Double Eagle.Never heard of one being a factory day cab,so I'd say the sleeper was removed on this one, like someone did to mine.Only 200 were built, but I've never been able to find out how many were Superliners and how many were MH's.
  7. That bus looks like a model 97D,if it is,they only made 26 of them.
  8. There's no difference in the appearance of the B-61 and B-68,the B-68 had a gas engine,EN540 I believe.
  9. The serial number is stamped on the frame, passenger side ahead of the front spring hanger/cab mount.Sometimes it's stamped pretty lightly so you might have to scrape a little paint.Don't forget to register it in the B model registry, also, once you get the number.
  10. My boom truck has an air starter, but the only time it will start the truck is after it's been running and warmed up,so I usually have to use the Farmall starting system for the first start of the day, probably needs rebuilt.
  11. I'm reserving final judgement till I see one in person, but it don't look too bad from the pics. The thing I'm really disappointed in is the name "Titan".Chevy had the Titan 90 from '69 till the '80's and Nissan has a Titan pickup,2 real winners to share a name with if you ask me. Superliner III would have been a far more logical choice in my book.
  12. Those are really hard to come by,and are usually broken or cracked if you do find one.I've seen a few on Ebay and they usually bring $100 or more.I'm pretty sure John Chalmers had some at one time, you might check with him.
  13. Kinda hard to tell but that looks like a AC that's been repowered and modified.
  14. Never did see them in person, but I was told about them.Sounds like they went to a good home. Are they consecutive serial numbers?
  15. Bob, Did those B30's come from ST.Joseph,MO by any chance?
  16. I've owned & operated Macks full time for 23 years,so this is my opinion. Find yourself a '97 to '01 CH613,one with a sleeper will cost you less than a daycab 99% of the time.A E7-427 with 13 speed Mack trans. would be my first choice, but Fuller transmissions aren't that bad either, but I'd definately stick with a 13 speed. Most CH tractors you'll find are air ride.I haul livestock, pulling a 53' spread axle pot, grossing 80,000 plus with my 427 and it does everythig I want it to.I run with the "long hood Petes and KW's"everyday, haul more weight legally, use less fuel and get there just as fast. Main thing is,find out as much as you can about the truck's history.A used truck is only as good as it's been maintained, although a Mack will stand more abuse than others.I bought my current truck,a '99 CH613 a little over 3 years ago.I paid a little over 30 grand for it with 500,000 miles. It was a fairly plain fleet trade, but had the right specs,427,13 speed,Jake,3:70 rears.,plus an excellent maintenance record.Only things I've replaced other than tires and regular maintenance is the alternator,starter,2 air bags and one injector line.
