  1. I was recently contacted by a lady representing a group called the Circus Fans Association. Her local chapter in Michigan is searching for the donation of a Mack AC to restore. She told me they can get grants to restore the truck, but not to purchase one.If anyone has or knows of an AC that they would donate to this not for profit organization, contact me and I will pass along the info.
  2. Sounds like you better put a new "pop off" valve on your air tank, too. It shouldn't have built that much pressure.
  3. Don't know how many were built, saw 2 in person back in '81 when I was in Hayward,CA at Mack Western.Must have been a fairly popular option in CA in the pre-E9 days.Use to see a few in for sale ads in Truck Trader papers, etc. back in the '80's.A 8V92 powered Superliner was a RWS770 or RWL770 depending on the frame,if I remember right.
  4. The only way you can is by contacting the Mack Museum and they can tell you when it was built. That's not always the year on the title, though, back then a truck wasn't titled until sold. For example I have a '59 with a higher serial # than a couple of my 1960 B-61's .
  5. Already got the sleeper hauled, guess I should have updated this post.
  6. Kinda sad when modern technology can't reproduce something so simple. Most people probably wouldn't notice, but those going for 100% authentic won't like them.I see the price of originals going way up.
  7. A '65 should have breakers instead of fuses.Take the panel out in the glovebox, breakers should be on backside.
  8. You have to take the radiator shell off to put the Bulldog on.
  9. I agree, all the new names are dumb in my opinion.Vision,Granite,Pinnacle,Titan, whatever happened to just calling them by model number,B model,R model,F model, etc???
  10. those emblems are the same as used on B models
  11. B85F1464 is listed in the B model Registry,owned by a man in Ontario,Canada.
  12. The red one did belong to a bakery, but I don't think it was Metz.If I remember right, the horn button is stamped "Custom built for Trask Bakeries".I'll double check though,I may be wrong. It has a 290 Cummins and a 6 speed Spicer trans.
  13. Anyone remember the aftermarket grille kit that looked similar to a Superliner grille that was available for R models?I don't remember the manufacturer but it was a pretty expensive item.It was 5 pieces, nose piece, side and bottom trim, and a grille.I have all the pieces for one except for the grille that I bought at an auction a few years back.
  14. Here's a pic of my '49 LJ.It has the END672 Mack/Lanova diesel,Duplex trans. and homemade tag axle. Yours looks to be in pretty nice shape.
  15. From the looks of the pics, you have the right mount ,just get on ebay a pick up a chrome Bulldog with pointed ears and tail. There's always several listed, and you can usually get a good one for $20 to $30. The front nameplate is a little harder to find, they look somewhat like a B model one,but are curved to fit the radiator shell and are made heavier. If you can't find one,let me know,I used to have a couple extra.
