  1. 16390, Old school is what I need, so I will try to call Cowboy and see what he's got and I do appreciate you offering to get me a couple, I'll let you know. No hurry. I remember one night I was in a truck stop and we were talking and this one driver said he saw a H model that had a cummins in it from the factory but you had to special order it. I have never seen one but he could be right. Check wiith the Mack Museum in Allentown, PA. Their email is: museum@macktrucks.com Double Diamond
  2. Rob, I looked at the two web sites you gave me and mcmaster looks like they have something that will work. You have to give them the size you need and the thread size to fit your gear shift. Thanks a lot, I may use them for other things as well. Double Diamond
  3. Does any one happen to have or know where I can get two round shift knobs (like original) for a duplex H-67? In it's long life some one replaced the knobs with extensions. Extensions work well on B models and Roadrangers but on a H model I just like to put my hand over the ball. I guess it's just what you are use to. The H models I drove were company trucks and had what came from the factory, so I got use to that feel. Some drivers though did add their own extension to Roadrangers in the Crackerboxes we drove. 4. Other Dog, Thanks for the reply and to all the others that answered back. I plan to go with 15w40 Rotella oil. The oil filter I found in use on the truck is a NAPA 1554. I got the Grover air horns working.
  5. In the Operation Manual for 1959, this is for a 1959 H-67 with a END-673, they recommend EO-E (Heaviest-duty Engine Oil) and list Military Specification MIL-L-2104B. As for the grade table 10W-30 looks like a good choice. But this is what they used in 1959. I am going to change oil, what oil should I use that is available today and where to get it? Same oil you all use in these old Macks. Thanks, Double Diamond
  6. My Mack H67 has 2 Grover Products Company Air Horns, they are out of Los Angeles and that is about all the markings on the horns. About a 22 inch horn with a 6 inch opening, mounted on top of the cab. They are geting air but no sound from the horns. I took one off and took it apart and found a spring from the center of the back plate that rest on the diaphragm to be out of place, I could tell by the rust mark left on the diaphragm. Also on the other side of the diaphragm the horn barrel was screwed down against the diaphragm and left a circle mark. I repositioned the spring and backed out the barral so it was not touching the diapharm, connected it to a air hose and still no sound. I don't know how to work on air horns so any help would be most appricated. These horns have not worked in some time. Thanks, Double Diamond
  7. Thanks for the replys. I did see one or two on ebay some time back probably should have put in a bid, I have not seen one on ebay since, alot of bulldogs though. I may have to check with Barry but I really don't need a new one, would look out of place on my old Mack. A lot more B61's around than H models so maybe a B model owner might have an extra one laying around. Double Diamond
  8. I need the chrome emblem that goes under the bulldog that has Mack on it. Anyone have this part or know where I can get one? It's for my H67 Mack, it was missing when I got the truck. Thanks alot, Double Diamond
  9. To all that have replied, The response has been far more that I expected and I am most happy to be able to share with each of you. The advice you have given will be put to use and I thank you for it. The trucks McLean had when I was driving for them were GMC 860's (cannonball) and Crackerboxes they also had some White 7400's and White Mustangs. The Mack H67's were mostly in Belle, WV, right out of Charleston on rt60 at the McLean terminal. They were good in the mountains. You may have seen me on the WV Turnpike but back then it only went to Beckley and going to Winston-Salem we took 60 through Ansted to 19 to 52 and down Fancy Gap. The Turnpike had some bad curves that were graded bad, as you know. I am in NC. Double Diamond
  10. rw613, I will look at POR 15 Products along with the Evercoat that Rob talked about. Thanks for your help. Double Diamond
  11. other dog, I am going to look up the products Rob listed, 20 years sounds good to me. I drove for McLean for about four years, first out of Winston Salem, NC then Charlston, WV and later, Richmond, VA. Yes it was a sad day when they shut down along with the rest of the old companies. Thanks for the Hello. Double Diamond
  12. Rob, I'm new to the form I hope you get this reply and thank you for the information. I will check up on Z-Grip and Metal to Metal by Evercoat. Thanks again for the help. Double Diamond
  13. I have a 1959 Mack H67, like the one I drove over the road for McLean Trucking Co. in the early 60's. I am working on it now and have some questions. What is the best brand name for body filler for the repair of rusted our areas on the cab and doors?
