  1. yea, i knew it was a firetruck. i think they were both 68's. a B68 and an N68. both still had big gas engine 2 mpg's in them. that is another reason i couldnt see the HIGH price tag that use to be on both of these trucks. Matt. use to see them for sale, never have seen either of them show up anywhere. in my opinion Bob Daub was the best thing for the old Mack restoration group, even drove to shows with parts in two old Macks. was a sad day when i found out they were sellin out the dealership. i heard Bob wanted to keep the B models parts business from the reast of the business and his family would not let him. Matt
  2. same, just a little bling. i have always liked that purple mcolored b model tho
  3. nope, like i said i think its refereed to as a 750C. the regular 750 filter is about 10 bucks, this one is more twards 40.
  4. im pretty sure you need a filter for a 750C lubrifiner
  5. a small baby quad would never have bolted up to a diesel and if it did the torque would blow it apart. as for the 422, they were the same driveline as a b42 but had a better overhead valve 438 engine. i think they used the same front engine mount as a diesel as the 707 540 and 464 were about the same as the 438. as for the smaller 77 series transmission ive . never seen it bolted up, dont think it would work and if it did it would never hold up. those little transmission had problems even behind the 4011's. the 72 series transmissions were basically bulletproof along with the 67 series in the B62's
  6. yup, dual flow, got mine from Napa about 2 months ago. 35 bucks and some change. have them look it up in the book and get the one for dual flow as there is about 3 different 750 lubrifiner filters.
  7. yup, TRQ7220 is a double overdrive 18 speed. the 20 stands for 2 over. overdrive in the front and rear box.
  8. i dont know, fifteen years ago when they were both priced at 35-40 thousand that was a pretty big fing price for a god damn hobby truck! maybe im out of line but i know my Macks pretty good and im not payin forty grand for a fuckin hobby truck to drive around! all i did was ask where the hell they were or if anyone knew. didnt need to be ridiculed for MY OPINION of a high price!
  9. so can we get Barry to buy from this Mack supplier still in bulk and get original style b model boxes ? AND have them priced reasonable so we can all enjoy them? like around the same price the r model box is? i know i got an original box from Tidewater and it was $225 or so, top and bottom without the latches. id pay that in a heartbeat today.
  10. double overdrive 18 speed quad with a double disk clutch would probably get you decent road speed since your runnin true 24'' rubber. even with that slow rear you might get 62-65 mph out of it. id stay away from a triplex as quads are more common for parts and with your 237 and rear you might not get a split low enough to use it off roadin or with some weight. Matt
  11. just fill me in where in Speculator haha. i think you mean holland patent, and you get off and take 28south/8east twards poland, then left on 8 twards speculator.
  12. yellow one looks like an LTL or LTH or such. the green one is a B73 or B75 carcass
  13. yup, scrapin greese back in the day when you were young and maybe grandpa might sneak u a cigar to smoke with him while your workin on old trucks and no one is lookin.... and you try to smoke it and get a buzz at 14 years old. ah, the good old days
  14. looks like the van had a drip rail that matched close? looks like it mated right up. is the top chopped on the cab or is it the way the picture is???
  15. get the aircraft stripper in a gallon can. you can probably even thin it out a little bit with laquor thinner so it flows.brush it on, wear gloves and glasses! let it sit til it bubbles and scrub it off with a small wire brush. might take a few times to get the 27 different layers of color off but you will be happier in the end.
  16. need some paint stripper on those hubs and a small wire brush. then wash it off with water and take a small wire wheel on an angle grinder and clean them right up and prime and paint them.
  17. 6 speed with auxillary with a 2 speed rear? what the hell? looks like it has one lever to me and looks to be a roadranger.... maybe im wrong. what a waste of those classic logo mudflaps. actually must be a trend. i see a lot of LTL and L9000 ford log trucks here in upstate Ny with Mack camelbacks under them. must be they prefer them in the woods. one guy had about 12foot of frame behind the cab and a 12 foot box and a set of camelbacks. the front rear tire was right behind the fuel tank. takes all kinds...
  18. i remember when he was runnin his MH and had is RS700L in the hanger to . he sold the R700 to someone in jersey or downstate ny i think. they put a new cab on it. cab was shot, and repainted it in Dale Earnhardt colors. black and silver and red. was dark blue when doug had it
  19. yup, bent pogo stick. usually happens around here alot when u switch trailers with something your not use to and make a sharp corner. think that yellow b model was on ebay a while back with a totally ridiculous buy it now price.
  20. yup, probably seen Doug's before you were thought of haha. actually about 10-12 years ago. his is sweet and def restorable. he just has too many irons in the fire. think he wants to restore his B75 soon he mentioned.
  21. wow, has the battery box cover in the same spot in both pics! what a gem. too good for a parts truck . and its a twin screw??? how many twin screw H models did they make??
  22. yup, looks like a mongral. looks to have a detroit with the farr air cleaner and has a timkin rear end, at least it doesnt have Mack hubs in the back.
  23. ok i give, whats the difference between an LRH and LGH? treadpattern? im runnin a pair of ST244 LRH's on the front of my B61. doesnt really matter what you put on it anyways, it along with any single axle truck is scary in the rain. i do know the pair of 244 BFG's cost more than the four cooper recaps that i put on the back.
