  1. Look nice and clean. What kind of screen did you use to cover the holes? I always thought they're to pass air when you seat down on so nothing good closing them completely.
  2. Except getting out of stock configuration of a classic truck I like the idea. A friend of mine rebuilt factory air suspension of his 1967 Mercedes-600 car with such airbags. Had to rifle through the chart with load ratings and travel limits to locate sutable bags. And ain't Volvo VLX (or so) has such setup as a factory front suspension?
  3. A thought that doesn't leave me looking at this bag is it should be full of $$ to provide a top level resto on a Magnum Superdog
  4. Brocky, Thank you for the tip. Missisippi river itself worth to be seen personally on my mind. I keep on planning one more trip overseas. Just have to get plenty of my ducks in the order before.
  5. Your son made a really beautiful job! You must be happy with the present. But that particulary truck is not an Aussie rig but Dutch one. I tell more, the owner of this F is a member on here and a real Mack fan. I will send a link to this thread to him and I'm pretty sure he will want to contact you and say "hello" to your son
  6. Paul, That's a really beautiful picture, well worth to be printed as a Christmass card. But the thing that really has me scratching my head is I can't fing a Christmass tree and any snow all over it
  7. Broky, It seems unbelivable to me to turn such string of barges, especially in moving waters of river. Sure those guys do that so it means it could be done. I don't think it's easy though. I also spotted a boat coming into a gate a couple of times and entered the chamber it looked like "herring in a drum" as we use to say in such cases here. Don't remember hearing of any place you can attend watching it as a show. Would be funny to.
  8. Short cab, must have steel dash.
  9. What it was originally designed to put into? Cool thing and looks like in new condition.
  10. Thank you for the pics Tom. Wonder how that "boat train" is easy to steer. Neat old Macks. Like the barn too. Merry Christmas to you!
  11. Merry Christmas BMT!
  12. I put the like but I don't mean i like the way Brazillians do. As for here if you really want no trouble to buy used Mercedes S-class or G with factory bulletproof protection. New car is sure avalible too but damn expensive. A used one could be bought reasonable. But no real need in such car here.
  13. The roads I saw in that movie look close to what you find going deeper in Russia. Sure during warm time. But here you never see truck drivers who does such stupid jokes in the street. That would end up very bad for a driver even if he is an owner-operator. So looks like Brasil is one uncommon place in the world. I heard from a friend of mine a story of his friiend who made a business trip to Brasil. It was told about a really high level of crime in the streets so too many peple have to make their vehicles bulletproof to just drive in a city. Don't know how it really close to the thruth though.
  14. Just apleasure to read. Unfortunately nowadays we used to SURPRIZE when someone just does his work a proper way with no stupid faults and fooling up a customer.
  15. Paul, as others said. It's pleasure to see your country And from the cab of your Mack too.
  16. Upps, a trouble with a boss lady at the moment. Will have to do it myself. Anyway many txs for the efforts!
  17. Yes, the sensor is the same one supplying the speedo gauge. So if you see the speed is shown with no odometer turning it means your gauge is bad. Sorry, no experience fixing them or taking apart. The tacho is a different sensor and the gauge to operate with.
  18. Those German guys with Boeings sure looked nice but were no doubt a cartoon movie. As for Brasilian jokings now I'm ready to state anywhere that Russian roads are one of the safeties in the world!
  19. Cool thing to have. Not for free though but might worth it being in the described condition.
  20. And thank you for sharing experience.
  21. I think that thing worth 1.5K anyway. Sorry to hear the issues you got transporting it. A couple of years back a friend of mine bought a truck and drove it home for nearly 2000km. Had the same issue with the hub bearings. Both sides on the front axle. Strange fact the first hub started getting stuck and braking the truck after 1000km of run. He was lucky just swapping the bearings which were foound there locally. The 2nd hub revision showed out no grease in it. And the same case with the seller. A honest person who owned the truck for 20 years. But never drove it further than 50 km off home.
  22. Could the verb "to park" be used for making a park too?
  23. What a cocktail !
  24. Do you mean the export things of a kind like that red R (or DM) from Venesuella? On my mind such trucks could be characterized more like custom stuff. You can never systemaize any possible difference ever put into a truck when someone just wanted to specify it the way he only liked. But the adventure itself is interesting
  25. That's interesting technology indeed. Actually you can do it yourself if want to tinker with big tank and soda solution. The effect is provided by electrolizing the water and building up bubbles of hydrogen and oxygen from it. When such bubble appears it starts off the metal surface of the part you clean. Getting larger in size it blows off a piece of any coverage on the parts surface including old paint, dirt and rust. Here are portable sets avalible for local repair consisting of a small stick with piece of foam on the end and a can with liquid. The stick has piece of metal inside the foam pad. You attach positive pole of a 12V battery to the stick and negative to the part you clean (or maybe vice versa) Than penetrate the foam with the fluid (electrolite) and put it to the area you clean. Some boiling appears on the surface below the foam and the part gets steel-clean. My practice showed out though you can't remove deep rust from cavits in steel. Sandblast gives much better results as i could observe.
