  1. JT, saying honestly it's not your cup of tea as it seems to me. Especially after you described me your typical week shedule. The engine in that truck is gasser, probably EN510 or so. It's not a diesel so a carb rebuld is on your way no questions. First thing to check on it is try to turn the crank over. Could be stuck what would be meaning the end of the deal. Fixing the cab would take as much amount of cash or job as fixing a small car body in same condition. Sure you might try put it on the road just the way it looks now. But fixing the winds, wipers, door locks and too possibly the seats and wiring under the dash wouldn't be avoided. Sure everything is possible, the engine compartment would take END673 or even a 237 as a direct swap. But all in all that thing would be 2-3 years long story doing it yourself (or more probaly 4-5 y.l.) or something like 35-150K resto job if outsorsed. I'm not too familiar with costs of resto jobs in your part of the world. But judge over the amount of work seen. One thing is almost clean - that project wohld be 10-15 times more worthy than fixing your former toy made by GMC. Anyway neat looking truck and I would be likely to grab it for something like $2K if could afford the shipping.
  2. Rene's nick name on here is Mack boy or Mackboy. Leon's one is Mack4ever for sure. At all there were at least 6 people from the Netherlands this time including one lady. And there were persons from Australia either.
  3. Tom, the very same to you. Great day, great company.
  4. Wow! Haven't heard the story. Once again, learn somdthing new. Being at Macungie show and knowing not about the smoker origin I greatly enjoyed the result of the high-class coocking job. Thanks again Randy and Tom.
  5. As said in the two posts above. Better to go through all the way clean than find cr*p getting out when whole the job is already done.
  6. So, who's gonna be the first to post the photo?
  7. Best B-day wishes Greg!
  8. Tom, it sounds great! I sure not going to spread blah-blah-blah over the net about your special hot taste increaser. And will be nice to finally see you in person.
  9. I like the L. Looks very solid on the pics.
  10. I don't remember Grandrock offering stainless components. Only chrome-plated parts as the memory serves.
  11. You will not afford. Those cab back panels have worth of gold nowadays. Going to be a great looking truck!
  12. Good luck on the entertainment and we're looking for the update on the story. Hope the blaster will not run out of soda until the job done.
  13. Prob the same ones. You can always check with a magnet. 304SS doesn't catch at all and 430 makes some tendency to glue up but way less than regular (chrome plated) steel does.
  14. Yes, gonna be at TK on Thursday. Will need guiding to the place though or taxiing by a MH-model or FWD firetruck.
  15. Good point, Ken, bought it. Will try to improve. See you on Thursday.
  16. They even cover 70 persent of Swedish needs in electricity exporting.
  17. Those are not stainless but chrome-plated PAI short ones. Have a tendency to show out rust traces from the pin joints after some use outside.
  18. In my particular case I ended up with Bowers paying $70 for each race and $45 for a cone. You can see those figures were much friendly than the official offers. Sure NOS. And I got all that in my hands in 3 or 4 weeks, not 15 As for travels I landed at JFK safe and sound on Thursday and going to check in at Macungie showgrounds after some roaming along the East coast.
  19. Some more views from my travel. A couple of were catched when over the icey waters of North Polar Ocean and those with small rocks in the snows are the North coast of Canada somewhere in Newfoundland. And the river somewhere deeper into the country. On a side note I'm currently in the USA visiting my friend's family in NJ and hope to see some of your happy faces at Macungie soon
  20. By some reason I had ocassion to fly over a part of North Norway. The weather was found fine so I made a bit of picture work from the window. Those tight clouds on the last two shots covered the area above Athlantic ocean.
  21. No, 707 gasser had different block from 673. First thing it didn't have a hole to attach an injection pump, just unbored flat spot. And the 2nd it had larger bore, the kind (or the same?) END711 had. Not sure the crank was similar and the head studs pattern might vary either.
  22. Once I found an offer for one on e-bay. It looked strange a bit but worth friendly. I ended up ordering just to check. Found out it was way out of what I'd like to see. Machine-sanded and the picture was made with paint (high print), not almost as an original tag looked like. The seller was Sparr truck from Florida.
  23. Going to repeat the next year
  24. Jason, Yes, I got the data and resolved my problem either. The original need was for a pair of Timken/SKF/Bower 47622W / 47622BW to finish rebuild of CRD32/33 diffs for my WW2 Mack. It's a very long story, the reason was to get faster from 9.02 and 40mph top speed. A 5 years long search ended up with a pair of bevel gear sets off a B-model supplied by one of our fellow members. That allowed me to mosly complete the FR. But when I got myself to the RR the interwheel diff bearings were found pitted really bad. It had happened that I had two sets of the diffs what meant 4 sets of diff bearings. Unfortunately I could use one of them only. So looked for extra bearings. Having hopes to use them from CRD92/93 (look siimilar) I put this thread on here. But finally having no clear answer during some while I just pulled one CRD 92 off a deep corner and what was pleasant I could read the numbers on the race without removing it. And those numbers were different from what I was needing at the time. So I rifled through e-bay and ordered a pair of races (L and R) and a pair of cones. They were not really cheap but reasonable in relation to other options. Being honest I was surprized seeing a cost of nearly $250 for just a bearing race and $150 for the cone to add. Now the bearings are already on my bench but no time to get to the carrier. And just tomorrow I'm going to be in almost another part of the world instead.
