  1. Now is the time to convert your U to an air start.
  2. Probably just a cheap 12V battery. If I remember correctly, the trucks were only shut down on weekends. Most of the OTR trucks were "slip seated". Trucks don't earn any revenue if they are sitting. The local trucks were Ford C-Series with Cat 3208 engine and Allision transmission.
  3. You mean...pressurizing the air tank...
  4. Dave and Doug, I don't remember (old age - my excuse)...What is the schedule (and times) for Friday afternoon/evening? Can I register on Friday? I am planning to be in the area around noon on Friday. I am staying at the Rodeway Inn in Akron. Anyone up for breakfast at Lititz Family Cupboard (close to Gerhart's) on Saturday morning (around 6:30a)?
  5. Vinny...keep up the progress...Gerhart's is only 4 weeks away.
  6. Kudos on the pics. I like the White 3000...ugly has H@@@. Reminds me of the IH Emeryville. And a "rat rod" with a B cab....hmmmm.
  7. Roadway's VP of Maintenance Don Dawson (RIP) was a forward thinking no-frills person. He knew what "made money" and what did not. He was one of the first to "recycle" oil. He plumbed a small line from the engine oil gallery into the fuel tank. They never had to change oil, just add oil and change the oil filter. There was no fuel gauge in the trucks. He knew how much fuel was needed to get from terminal to terminal and spec'd the fuel tank size accordingly (less dead weight, more payload). Air starters...no batteries to maintain.
  8. Vinny...I don't see any oil (double negative). What are they teaching you in school? Maybe the engines are just for show and don't run so there is no oil in them, hence no leaks.
  9. And a WHITE farm tractor grille.
  10. Hmmm, the A is a right hand drive....would go good with the U... a lefty and a righty.
  11. If anyone talks to Rob, say "hello" for me. I miss reading his "words of wisdom" on BMT.
  12. Ben, Nice video and great work on the truck. I was waiting for the sound of the 2-stroke!
  13. I have viewed the picture several times and I have yet to see the Mack or even a truck. I do know the one on the right has an overinflated boob. I bet she would get a stiff neck if she slept face down.
  14. Looks good Vinny! X2 on the diaper when it is finished. Keep us posted on the progress.
  15. Another "good" guy gone! I remember watching his historical "step". RIP!!
  16. always liked that model...are you talking babe or truck or both?
  17. The boss should leave him sit there for a while and think about the situation (especially how he is going to get the truck down).
  18. Hmmm, Sterling OH...in my back yard. Too bad I am in PA the next couple weeks. But I may have to call to get details and price. Single axle Super to go with my MH.
  19. Did you see Watt's new shop? There is a special bay where the floor is lower on one side...this is for U's and DM's.
  20. Nice pics! No snakes?

  22. But there is only ONE "farmer52" And everyone can be glad of that fact.!
  23. Great pics and videos. Nothing like the sound of a steam engine and its horn!
  24. Look in my gallery and there is a good image of the MH front bumper.
  25. Most other forums require registration. Thanks Barry!!
