  1. When I started this thread I meant B-57 not 53. My one brain cell was facing the wrong direction.
  2. Back in the 50's and 60's in Illinois B-61's dominated the construction companies. Hendricksons, Autocars IH R-210-30's and White 9000's took up the slack. Can't say I ever remember a B-81
  3. I think a six wheel drive B-53 cement mixer was the last B model to roll down the assembly line.
  4. Save it. Not that many Whites left.
  5. Mexico here we come. Union members take heed.
  6. Ozinga buying Macks now or is that an ex Meyer.
  7. Now that I think of it White was getting into the mixer market with the non Autocar cab 9000. Maybe the B53 offered a lighter chasis weight to compete with the White 9000. I know Material Service out of Chicago had a bunch of those White 9000's. B models still are in service. White 9000's are Japaneese cars.
  8. B-53 were usually built heavy for dumps or mixers, some all wheel drive. I wonder why this model was chosen as a heavy duty chasis when they already had heavy B's such as 60 and 80 series. Usually the smaller the first number the lighter the chasis.
  9. I wonder if Renault is on a looser leash than Mack
  10. 1-3 mpg for sure
  11. There were a lot more single axle tractors with dump trailers back then.
  12. Dam those were nice trucks. Great job!
  13. Back in the seventies a Mack executive said the LT was the finest truck on the west coast. What happened?
  14. KS individual heads gives it away. Is there any chance of Scania V8's comming to the US for truck install? I know they are here for marine and industrial.
  15. What were the major problems with the early mack v8's 864-865-866. I see a lot of these wer replaced with Cummins or inline Macks. I know one was the early fuel injection system with one plunger. It beat itself to death. 864-255 HP 865-Maxidyne 325 HP 866-375 HP
  16. That would be good to know before they wither away.
  17. On another web site H---s There is a thread under the truck manufacturer section Mack and its called U-models. There are about 12 white colored tandem axle U models shown. They appear to be parked under an open abandoned building. I inquired on location and if they were for sale. Might be a good lead. Vinny check them out.
  18. Could you get mack rears/suspension with Canadian spread.
  19. Nice find. When did the newer block start and does it have a different engine model designation.
  20. Thats what the Mack civil engineering group came up with DOCKS and FACADE. Those types of changes are sure to improve Macks product line up and market penetration. As snoopy would say -"Good Grief" Sounds like Volvo would be better off hirering cartoon characters than product designers .
  21. Don't see enough Granites on here Granite tractors are as scarce as hen's teeth out east here in Ct.
  22. Nice B. Nice old school paint job.
  23. Some of the railroads with the 567 leakers never changed the oil.Just added fresh and changed the filters
