  5. 8' there's going to be a shiplapped seam in the middle
  6. A little more forward progress, got the second fender almost done, and got a couple of antique timbers (donated by Red Horse) to the sawmill and had them made into boards for the bed. Replica 37 ford tail lights came today, need to make brackets up for them.
  7. Happy Birthday Vlad

  18. Had a chance to work on the pick up for the first time since about October. Pick up body panels prepped, primed and almost all painted, Need to do rear panel over, I was in the process of wiping it down, got distracted (oh, look a squirrel!), forgot to wipe it down and sprayed over a bunch of lumpy stuff. I still need to do one side of 2 large panels anyway. Welded up a license plate frame from some aluminum u channel which will hold recessed leds. Should have the shell all together this wee then on to the fenders and tailgate. Felt good to get something done on it.
  19. Have to run a wire off the cold side of the brake light switch to avoid that. This way it's isolated from the turn signals. Finding that switch buried in the dash was the hardest part.
  20. I just used a regular straight electric controller in my Kenworth. Works perfect. I couldn't see the extra benefit in an air/electric unit but there must be a reason for them.
  21. Austin is basically the San Francisco or Cambridge of the south.
  22. Body upfitters have to put a tag on after they mount a body or equipment on a new truck. Must have been a fruehauf van body on a straight Kenworth
  23. For 10K the least he could do would be to get it out of the weeds and close the sleeper vent
  24. These just popped up down the street from my shop. They belong to a local trah guy that went out of business a few years ago. They were stored at a lot he owned and the yuppies that lived nearby kicked and screamed and basically threw a tantrum until he took them off the property that HE owned LONG BEFORE they moved in. Don't know where they've been the last couple of years but I'm happy they didn't get scrapped or anything. He was still using the B42 to drag some of his stuff around last time I talked to him.
