  1. I pretty much stopped going to car shows a long time ago, just seemed like it was just a gathering to pick apart and criticize other people's stuff. I got into truck shows and joined ATHS and ATCA about 1991, what a difference. No judging or negativity, and a whole lot more interesting.
  2. Happy B-day and thanks
  3. My first car was a 65 Impala 2 door. 230 straight six and a powerglide. Couldn't get in too much trouble with that car. Wish I had my 70 Monte Carlo and 70 Chevelle back. Actually sold my Astro last week and already wish that did't go.
  4. Not that bad looking actually but couldn't they do a better job on the roof fairing attachment? It looks like they tek screwed it on.
  5. Anybody know what color green was used for the interior of steel dash R models?
  6. Nice
  7. I meant since December
  8. i was thinking that this weekend, he hasn't been on since before December
  9. Used to drive an F700 with the 5.9 and a 5/2. It was geared to run almost 80 mph on flat land but it was absolutely terrified of hills. My boss knew nothing about trucks so he got the lowest priced one at all times. This one was a 26k gvw with juice brakes. Once the crane and toolboxes were mounted it weighed 25300 before I got in the cab. If you could get it rolling good it took 2 feet on the brake pedal and pulling up on the steering wheel for leverage to stop it in a hurry. He sent it out to have more leaves installed in the springs which was his fix for every truck they had. Pretty scary at times to drive but the 5.9 was pretty good.
  10. I'm the boss too but I'm not smart enough to tell someone else to do it.
  11. I was thinking I should use the crane but I would probably rip the hood of the truck doing it.
  12. Yeah, that's one that I didn't let go into the scrap pile.
  13. So after a few years of steadily declining capability, the starter in my Autocar just couldn't get it done any more. I had a little time yesterday afternoon and decided to pull it off and get a new one. It looked heavy pulling it out with a strap attache to the ground lug standing on the frame rail with just one foot so I didn't dent the fender was fun. That freakin' thing was heavy. After I picked my testicles up off the floor I went and got a nice new 39mt which I could put in with one hand. Modern technology and aluminum is awesome isn't it?
  14. Mine looked just like the first photo except with a boom on the back. 3208, Allison 653 tandem. It would get you where you needed to go but you were always late.
  15. It went to Iowa
  16. Same visor same cab, I put one on my f8000 a few years ago. I got it off a pickup in a junkyard
  17. Extremely miniscule progress today, figured out the rear fender location. It's been way too cold in the shop to work on this thing.
  18. Anybody know what years the r models had half dogs on the doors? There aren't any on this truck.
  19. Drink a bottle of Dayquil and get to work. Actually I got up this morning feeling like crap too but it passed, wife went home sick this afternoon, Gawd I hate winter.
  20. Happy B-day Paul
  21. Just got a deposit looks like it's sold
  22. Got a call from Hagerty insurance today, they found the glass and they are having it shipped to a local glass shop for install. The claims guy has been really good to deal with.
  23. I was surprised that it was for sale for so long too. I think it was advertised only on the ATHS online ads so it might have gotten missed by a lot of people. This was the best truck by far for the price that i saw. It bobtailed 250 miles home and it didn't miss a beat.
