  1. I'm the boss too but I'm not smart enough to tell someone else to do it.
  2. I was thinking I should use the crane but I would probably rip the hood of the truck doing it.
  3. Yeah, that's one that I didn't let go into the scrap pile.
  4. So after a few years of steadily declining capability, the starter in my Autocar just couldn't get it done any more. I had a little time yesterday afternoon and decided to pull it off and get a new one. It looked heavy pulling it out with a strap attache to the ground lug standing on the frame rail with just one foot so I didn't dent the fender was fun. That freakin' thing was heavy. After I picked my testicles up off the floor I went and got a nice new 39mt which I could put in with one hand. Modern technology and aluminum is awesome isn't it?
  5. Mine looked just like the first photo except with a boom on the back. 3208, Allison 653 tandem. It would get you where you needed to go but you were always late.
  6. Same visor same cab, I put one on my f8000 a few years ago. I got it off a pickup in a junkyard
  7. Extremely miniscule progress today, figured out the rear fender location. It's been way too cold in the shop to work on this thing.
  8. Anybody know what years the r models had half dogs on the doors? There aren't any on this truck.
  9. Drink a bottle of Dayquil and get to work. Actually I got up this morning feeling like crap too but it passed, wife went home sick this afternoon, Gawd I hate winter.
  10. Just got a deposit looks like it's sold
  11. Got a call from Hagerty insurance today, they found the glass and they are having it shipped to a local glass shop for install. The claims guy has been really good to deal with.
  12. I was surprised that it was for sale for so long too. I think it was advertised only on the ATHS online ads so it might have gotten missed by a lot of people. This was the best truck by far for the price that i saw. It bobtailed 250 miles home and it didn't miss a beat.
  13. Yup it's just like driving a b model except there's leg room and headroom
  14. The 3000 was an S Malatesta truck and the R was Tom Amaducci's, we are trying to import all the NJ antiques to Mass.
  15. I've wanted an R model for a long time. Finally found the right one. '67 with a 673 turbo 250 horse and a duplex. Nice solid roadworthy truck. This is the last piece to round out the collection. Photos are a little dark.
  16. Just a shot in the dark but I'm looking for a new passenger side windshield for this Astro. Glass companies are having a tough time finding one but I don't think it's going to be something in an online inventory. There's probably some around but they are probably forgotten in the back of a warehouse somewhere.
  17. Kresge's Brockton Ma then and now. (pile of bricks were brought in for Detroit movie set, it's actually an empty lot now)
  18. Oh yeah it was quite the expensive clean up not to mention hundreds of gift certificates for free meals for everyone in the building.
