  1. Looks like we have more than chassis saver in common. I had a 70 chev too. A CST (custom sport truck) It came from North Carolina. I did a frame up restoration. I loved that truck. Sold it at Carlisle so I could by a 1979 Brigadire. Wasn't one of my smartest moves. I am going to get some boiled linseed oil, and be careful what I do with the rags. Thanks Keith
  2. I'm not familiar with treating metal with linseed oil bigdog. But I am thinking it would be a good rust preventative for the cab. Everything else on the trucks gets crown rustproofing. Would I just wipe it on, then wipe off excess? When I wash the truck would I be washing the linseed off? I also wanted to thank you, You mentioned chassis saver to me. I replied I had to find out what the Canadian equivalent would be. Turns out I can buy your chassis saver here. I recently painted the frame of my snowplow with it. I agree with you, good stuff. Keith
  3. You have come to the right place. A lot of knowledgeable Mack people here. Keith
  4. I would think the barn demo job would be very dusty . Could it be possible the air cleaner has got plugged up?? I wouldn't think so, but an easy thing to check.
  5. Is it possible they changed engines because they are in the oil recovery business Very nice rig ,either way
  6. This is a 1988 restored superliner for sale. For some reason I can't post it in the for sale forum. Here is the link, it is worth looking at. VERY SHARP !! http://wwwa.autotrader.ca/a/Mack/Superliner/BANCROFT/Ontario/19_8229197_/?ms=heavy_trucks&orup=13_15_95
  7. Looks great! Thanks for the pics Vlad.
  8. Don't be afraid to show off your truck. We love em all. From ones with trees growing out of the hood to shined up show trucks. Keith
  9. Glad to hear you got your problem solved. I am also happy your son is getting his hands dirty working on your R. On a different note, I noticed your air cleaner has been redone, I am sure it met the same fate as a lot of Canadian R model air cleaners, Rotted out behind the lower strap. Is the air cleaner new, or did you rebuild it? And the air cleaner bracket, is it chrome plated ? Keith
  10. Welcome aboard ! To help a newcomer out , a pic of your B (I hope) and the link to your thread on the other site. Hope I got it right. Very nice B, and very cool story. Keith . http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1655065_.html
  11. Thanks for trying to keep the R700 on this side of the Atlantic Ocean
  12. Something else to check Vlad, I have had the plunger at the top of the treadle valve hang up a bit. If you take the pedal off, take the plunger out and clean & lubricate it. I have had that trouble myself in the snowplow, now its part of my regular maintenance . Just a thought.
  13. Great pics ! Thanks for sharing. The Wayne Value Liner sure is sharp!
  14. Sharp looking Mack… and palm trees . It doesn't get better than that!
  15. Your truck looked a lot better when you got it out of the woods. Happy to see it saved. I wouldn't mind a good story either.
  16. Just a thought … would the circuit breaker be getting weak . Try a new one perhaps.
  17. Cool trucks, I like the tractor. We likes all pics here…..even your dozer or your float.

  20. That is so true. North of the border also!
  21. bbigrig, Pics of the mirrors we talked about.
  22. Very nice! Being a Dutchmasters truck I would imagine it hasn't seen much salt.
  23. Thanks Vlad for sharing your adventure with us. I agree with superdog, that is true Mack dedication to go to those lengths. I wish you the very best with the DMM……I guess you will have the only one around your neighbourhood. Keith
