  1. This is as best as I could do at short notice Had her rolled up with a couple of other sheilas keeping a eye on the trucks Paul
  2. My father always said "wood is only good for keeping you warm" Wood really is a issue in Australia as our white ant (termite) population is such that it destroys most woods at a record pace in most parts of Australia unless the wood is treated Australia never went thru the last ice age and as such the glaciers never took all the soil away while carving out new mountain ranges, apparently we have more white ants than rest of the world combined Anyway back to the topic Paul
  3. Cat pulled out of truck building because when they got in was when the U.S. entered it's "Sub Prime Mortage" crisis which inturn caused the "GFC" global financial crisis Cat stopped selling Cat motors to other manufacturers as the Cat motor was and still is well regarded thru out the world Cat believed that Cat motor lovers would buy Cat trucks just to get the motor Bad timing was the issue more than anything else Cat trucks were mainly sold in Australia and NewZealand and the ones that couldn't be sold in North America got sent here to be converted and sold I guess the Aust/NZ market was less important to upset than the north American market Paul
  4. And probably before the cab Paul
  5. Whilst out and about looking for something unrelated I came across this article on the forum It mentions the steps behind the front wheels been new to F models in I think it said 70 Look like the same steps as these Yes more useless information but relative to the question asked in a disjointed way lol Paul
  6. Reckon they probably lifted the engine and trans joined together in the factory So guessing it is okay to do if you know how Anyone have production line photos?? Might be able to give some hints Paul
  7. This explains me never needing worming Paul
  8. Was given a tube of my old posters the other day Dunno if you lot call them posters in Yanky land, but they are what were once in the middle of magazines and some had a foxy lady, some had a truck or hot rod and some had both
  9. Dunno, next you blokes will be saying how you miss the crackle of a bakelite radio as the valves are warming up And the yelling from some old bloke "TURN THAT BLOODY RADIO GRAM DOWN" Paul
  10. That's good news, so both blocks and cranks were okay I take it Paul
  11. Im folling along here, I reckon I might learn something here for sure What size back end, I think the trunions vary a fare bit over the years even with the same ratings Inboard or out board stand Dunno if it makesany difference or not but the more information you can provide I reckon the closer you would get to the right answer Paul
  12. Yep and a Twin Spinner is the next model Single Spinners are my favorite looking Ford by far, the look was a timeless classic look A bit like the B and R model Mack, when it's right it's right Paul
  13. That would be known as a "single spinner" in Australia But yes a lot of coin even for out here Paul
  14. There's a hole were its heart used to be, think that's a line to a song Looking like good progress Paul
  15. Seed, isn't sense and money the same thing ?
  16. It sure is hard to believe These get more abuse in a few minutes than most trucks ever get When I first saw videos like this I thought to myself "you've gotta see this before you fall off the perch Pauly boy" Looks like a lotta fun just to go for a look Paul
  17. I think so, the best that I can relate to is NewEngland trucks from the U.S. NewEngland area not the Australian NewEngland area We have modern scroll work that I dont particularly like, big long stretched out stuff, a lot of new trucks have these I like this older style, to me its much more refined and subtle yet really sets the truck off Paul
  18. Having a bit of fun is what it is all about Halloween was never mentioned in Australia until maybe 10 years ago Big department stores are pushing it, I have never seen or heard of Australian kids trick or treating, yet ??? Nothing like happy kids I reckon, sort of reminds of been a kid Paul
  19. Because, well why not My most favorite part of Australia is the big open flat plains, they go for hundreds of miles and until white (yeah that evil bastard that's to blame for everything wrong in todays world) 😆 had virtually no trees at all, just salt bush and grass The best thing about this country is the sunrises and sunsets, they last for hours and to me are spectacular, I may be a tad bias here Mother natures effort today And to keep it all with in the spirit of the forum "Mr Macknificent" the late Eddie Hollands R 700 Happy d asys everyone Paul
  20. I wonder if that is 4 valve motors only ? Paul
  21. Tail jacking isnt very complicated If you put the cow in a bail to milk her, just tie her tail vertical, as in straight up and down with a bit of tension This triggers nerve and the cow will just stand still After a few milkings like this just untie the tail and most times they will just stand nice and still I only ever use this as a last resort to when breaking them in I always found just walking them thru the cow shed and dropping a little grain and walk along behind giving them a rub and a tickle does wonders I always talk to animals constantly so they know exactly were I am, I feel that helps as well Anyway I'm sure you have it well under control Paul
  22. And the owl ? Paul
  23. Brocky most long haul trucks in Australia have enough fuel carrying ability to get them were they are going with needing to refuel Fuel gets a lot more expensive as you get away from the big cities Paul
  24. Here we go the finished product Paul
