MACK 321 you really need to disassemble the whole shooting match and go thru it from front to back If you dont know were everything is at you need to start at the start so you actually know all is okay with each component that makes up the braking system other wise your just guessing like us what is right and wrong And am I'm trying my hardest to not come across as rude and been a smart ass, I am genuinely trying to help and explain what I would do Paul

Now I'm a bit of a train nut as well as a truck nut My Uncle made these B Class Bulldogs, he takes them all over Australia to different model train events He also has made all the rolling stock for them as well as other locos They are 7 1/4 inch guage They have been in parades and on show and the like When I say he made them, he made every bit of them from from to back The bodies the molds the bogies and everything Full air brakes the lot A very clever person is my Uncle

Need to sort the basics out first, do what has been suggested If it was my truck I would 1) pull all 4 brake drums and brakes apart 2) pull all 4 S cams right out and clean bushes etc out spotless 3) compare all 4 sets of shoes rollers etc to compare if all are the same 4) reassemble brake assemblies making sure all cans are in the correct holes for slack adjusters 5) make sure all slack adjusters are of the same length 6) make sure all rod angles to slack adjust ratios are correct 7) measure drums etc and make sure the match the shoes 😎 reassemble and adjust, before the wheels go on If the truck is aired up, release the brakes and you can pull rods on the maxi cans by hand to see how much travel is actually there You can also feel if anything is binding by doing this For all I know the other brakes aren't even working due to been out of adjustment and the reason this one locks is it is the only brake still working Truck would be in my open air work shop right away until I got this sorted Of course it isn't my truck Mack 321 you really need to start looking into this more seriously Paul

Yeah Bob, I don't quite understand this world anymore Most of work I do, well all of it really I have to be 00 for alcohol and drug free and am expect to take a drug and alcohol test at any stage for no reason at all Yet the bludgers on welfare get their handouts from the government and don't have tyo prove they are sober and drug free And those same bludgers get free needles and "safe injecting rooms", what ever they are yet people working that need needles because they have a illness like diabetes or some other chronic condition have to pay for their needles The world's gone mad And no matter what anyone says,drug addiction is a choice not a illness Phew, almost got a rant going then, I'll get down off my soap box and take myself to the naughty corner Paul

They are the only axles I have with springs like those The dolley those axles are on is the most modern thing I own, I noticed when I was at Maxi parts (big truck parts supply chain in Australia) that all new axles they have also have these springs I reckon those springs are a good idea but wonder if proper maintenance would alleviate the need for springs The axles are K Hitch brand, pretty sure they are Chinese but are on a lot of trailers these days out here I have never had a drama with them Paul

I must point out my dig at Volvo has nothing to do with the trucks Back in the late 70's they started selling those box shaped Volvo cars in Australia and they came with day time running lights, the first I had ever seen After maybe 20 years or so they gave up on the idea and in recent times other modern cars have taken over Personally I don't really have a drama with them and agree with what say about it helping to spot a car some days, especially those charcoal coloured jobs that seem to be the latest look However I am just as I said,a grunpy old bugger and don't take to well been told what to do by some over educated university graduate or government official Paul

I wonder if the ABS isnt working on this wheel , I doubt it would have any effect unless under hard braking But if the wheel locks, shouldn't the ABS release the brake and stop it rrom skidding ? As I said I really dont know about ABS Paul

ABS and that stuff I know nothing about sorry I assume this is a bogie drive truck Maybe hook a air pressure guage up at each can to see if the pressures are equal I still would be leaning towards a mechanical issue All rods need to travel the same distance and slack adjsuters should be on the same angles at rest and when brakes are applied Paul
