  3. Gudday with out knowing what size ass end you have but I do no that 44000 lbs and 58000 lbs look the same almost from the out side but the bearings and seals are a lot bigger in the 58's the brakes I think are the same size though but I could be wrong I guess the first thing you need to do is find out what size axle's you had and what size you are trying to change to Paul

  9. welcome aboard mate now to show how dumb I am is this an electronic motor or a mechanical injection pump type of motor? the two things I know for sure number 1 black smoke is unburnt diesel number 2 this is always [ as far as I know ] caused by either to much fuel or not enough air so I suppose I would disconect the air cleaner and go for a drive and see if it still blows smoke if it does well your half way there [ you no its getting to much fuel ] Paul

  13. It's not coming out of what ever the gear was when you rolled to a stop and when you put it in first gear you are then getting stuck in two gears it will be a cheap fix will have to pull the floor out and see whats not lined up or what has worn off then just weld the piece up that has worn down or adjust dog on the rod in the top of the box to close the gap up ( you will see what Im on about when you have the top off the box ) I reckon it will take longer to get all the stuff out of the cab than it will to fix the problem wont be the clutch as it only happens in one gear oh yeah welcome and what a great looking truck looks real handy for bringing all sorts of bargins home gotta love the tail gate lifter This fix I reckon you should be able to do your self no problem at all Paul
  14. mate the grease wont run out centrifical force will see to that it dont matter how hot it gets but I could be wrong when we grease uni's always grease till new grease comes out all 4 cups very rare any thing fails Paul

  16. you have got to kidding me talk about the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen fair dinkum what a pack of knobs fancy wasting money on that wouldnt they be better off spending there money building real motors again or maybe even real cabs that are all steel you see to many roo's on the road as it is tearing of clearance lights fuel lines air lines and the list goes on what are we gonna end with a roo on the bonnet instead of a dog we all know you aint driving a real truck unless your looking at a dogs ass all day and they wonder why they have trouble selling trucks now bl__dy w__kers need to get back to making reel trucks that pull the ass out of the ocean and will do it all day long year in year out with no electronics to let go but as I've said before what would I know sweet F A Paul
  17. Let me guess you were thinking Im sure you've been told its not your job to think Paul
  18. what a great job you gotta be pretty proud of that Paul
  19. sounds like the scoop we all used to have over the back window of station wagons once who would have thought we were all greenies once before it was even popular Paul
  20. as said above the power should be equally divided between all wheels all of the time until a wheel starts to slip as that is what a diff does when the power divider is in both axles have equal power regard less of if one axle is slipping ie crossing a real deep gutter and one axle in the air when you have cross locks no matter what happens all wheels will keep on spinning ideal for sloppy slippery spots I think you are getting some miss information from some people front and rear axles drive all the time weather diff lock is in or out I still cant see how it would drive with a broken spider gear and if it did it would be real noisy and jump as it locks and unlocks as the bits move around I think as I have said pull the center out and have a look or at least drain the oil and pull an axle out maybe go buy a cheap bore scope and have a look and you might be able see bits floating around inside can buy bore scopes for under $100 that way you can start to under stand whats going on or not going on Paul
  21. heres one from Australia for sale at the moment http://www.trucksales.com.au/buy/details.aspx?_N=1550+1552+1602+1601+4294715094&R=15749674 I have no connection to it Paul
  22. If there was no problem before the center bearing let go and there is now common sense would tell me there must be a problem with the new shaft as for the tyres you might have a crook spring hanger and one side is sought of lagging behind the other Paul
  23. what type of back banjo or top mount I would just pull the center out my self and have a look and as I have said if a spider gear was blown I would think you would no about it Paul
  24. same method as me and seems to work ok Paul
