  1. You are lacking compression by the sounds of it check the valve clearance if the rest of the motor was rebuilt it doesnt leave much else Paul
  2. Those are good looking Scania's you have there dunno much about any of them new ones but the older Scanias are as tough as boots and seem to last for ever Paul
  3. That does not surprise me one bit , as far as I know you are still fairly safe out here in the big cities then again I live nearly a 1000 mile from what would be called a big city, but if shoe were to fit in any Australia city so be it as well High time we stopped kidding our selves about this type of stuff and started speaking the truth and only then can they start to fix it Paul
  4. I really wasnt even having a crack compared to some people or perhaps I just know when Im better off to stop Paul
  5. I have seen Steiger stuck like that it was laser leveling at night and a old dam had been filled in earlier was driving over the top with a scoop full of dirt and she sunk down on one side like that , The tractor only had a door on one side and the bottom of the door was in the dirt , the driver had to sit till morning for the next shift on strange angle true story Paul
  6. I dunno, I don't tend to comment because I will no doubt end up doing a far worse job myself shortly afterwards
  7. mate need to put up a picture of the injector pump so people can help you solve the problem if you have smoke coming out the exhaust you have fuel compression must be low make check the valve clearance ? Paul
  8. Im safe with my old bucket of bolts Thats pretty minor but good that they are gunna fix and bull shit about it Paul
  9. The orange tractor you would have seen is a Fiat high clearance for the sugar cane. We are sugar cane farming, hay and about to try mung beans, a bit of everything. The loader tractor is a Chamberlain, an Aussie brand made up till the mid 80's until John Deere took them over in the recession of the 80's. This ground is all flood irrigated. It's fairly flat and we have no winter, just a wet season and a dry season. Paul
  10. If this motor turns over really easy maybe the timing is out one tooth maybe check the cam and injector pump are still correctly timed to the crank I guess with out been there its hard to tell but start at the basics and work from there Paul
  11. No turning back now LOL Looking good Paul
  12. thats come up really well looks its gunna match the house spot on Paul
  13. some more useless information that photo was taken on Cubbie station and was Australias largest private irrigation concern it got into financial trouble in the drought 2001 - 2010 and is now owned by China https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubbie_Station http://www.cubbie.com.au/ http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/cubbie-goes-to-china-for-a-steal/story-e6frg8zx-1226562159297 Paul
  14. A diesel motor needs compression in the cylinder to burn the diesel , if it doesnt make enough compression the diesel cant burn to make the motor run Do you have any smoke coming out the exhaust ?? Pauk
  15. has it run since the rebuild ??? does it have good compression and has the compression been checked ? Paul
  16. Ah that would be me then I take it Paul
  17. Cliff who ???????????????
  18. Today's useless information That's a stick rake on the front of the dozer. It's only used for stick raking after you have cleared the ground. Most times it's all pulled (a boat anchor chain between two dozers) then left for 12 months. The grass grows up thru and the timber dries and then its fired and whats left is raked into windrows and burnt. And yeah it does make the truck look small. Paul
  19. mate your not getting fuel or at least it sounds like thats the problem What model Mack a picture of the motor will most likely be enough if your not sure Paul

  22. I wonder if the HP ratings are like the old Benz trucks of the 80's they all sound good but were only Shetland ponies as opposed to the US Cummins Mack and Caterpillar that had Shire draft horse The older Benzs looked good on paper but never had any balls dunno much about these new ones you dont see many new Benzs on the roads any more or at least not in the numbers you once did
  23. a 27 liter pussy I bet it felt like Christmas to him LOL thats a lot of power there Tim Paul
