  1. HMmmmmmmmmmmmm. I think Cat's main problem is they have priced themselves out of their traditional market in a quest to become the biggest and the grandest at all cost, and have forgotten their roots. Think about a little mum and dad business will never be able to afford a new D7 or any other new crawler for that matter, and that is their traditional market. No talk that I noticed of the flop Cat trucks is or was. Paul
  2. What sez you Brocky Pommy trucks as ugly as a hat full, never LOL they had some styles really made you wonder what they were thinking well I guess they werent The Aussie adaptions of Pommy trucks had a lot more sex appeal Paul
  3. Well I have asked some questions around the joint and I eventually got the answer for you as to who whats when and where , Maybe if you click on the picture it will take you to the Face Book page seeya Paul
  4. Well, the only surprise there is Volvo at 16.2 %. The reason I say that is, I can't recall even seeing a new Volvo let alone 16.2% of heavy trucks being Volvo, I wonder if Volvo are not all trucks, as they sell a lot of buses out here. I see plenty of Mack Tridents on B-double line haul work up and down the east coast of QLD, but for the life of me I can't recall seeing any Volvos. I obviously need to get off the farm more. Isuzu is no surprise at all. They aren't cheap but they are really well made and last for ever. Now that seems to be a winning combination Paul
  5. I told him I would buy it if no one else did never heard back so I guess its been sold on
  6. yeah I recall that truck as well it had the

  9. Wow Vlad I wouldnt have thought Mack was still getting sold in Europe then , shows how much I dont know LOL Good to see a old Leyland Marathon they are getting very thin on the ground now I think Theres a face book page ( I have put the link up a few times on the forum ) that is all about the trucks running from Europe to the middle east I am surprised at the amount of F models that did that run in the photos so they must have sold a lot more Macks in Europe than I imagine Paul
  10. no good at all yes the lack of respect and understanding of peoples actions today is out of control I dont have any answers for this problem it seems to be getting worse the world over Thoughts to you and his family Only on TV a few weeks ago they had a whole program about a young girl that died when her ute drifted on to the wrong side of the road , when the investigation was completed she had just sent a text message and had sent 22 text messages in the last half a hour when she was driving I dont understand why people cant see any of this you really need to concentrate when driving , things happen quick enough when you are alert let alone when your on the bloody phone or sending a text message Paul
  11. looks like a good event there Vlad Good to see some Superliners there I gather they are recent arrivals as in not sold new to Europe Paul
  12. would that be indirect or over drive ??? Paul
  13. What speed are going now at 2100 rpm ???
  14. A bit more useless information on the Dodge Inter marriage did you know a lot of the Chrysler 318 hemis in Australia were cast at IH Geelong and have the IH logo cast on the block Paul
  15. Some pretty impressive figures there. I'm gonna start sounding like a Scania salesman soon but they are a pretty impressive jigger. As far as B doubles and B triples and even the speedy cow taxi goes, I think there are a lot other countries that could learn a lot. And as for conventional versus COE, I think once people get their head around it, the COE of today in most cases rides as good if not better than a lot of conventional trucks of only 10 or 15 years ago, and the fuel economy is there as well. Paul
  16. Sort of says it all, doesn't it. I don't know why other countries, the US in particular, can't see how much more efficient this is than dragging around a 50 foot van. But what would I know. Paul
  17. If you check this out, they have B doubles with two 40 footers or four 20 footers. All makes sense to me. Paul
  18. Well I reckon I have the answer for this people keep on sending me videos of these Mustangs spinning out and getting tea strained when the driver gives them a boot full at speed LOL So it appears no one can handle the Wild Mustang so they are sending them down under for them Skippy the bush kangaroos to break and I guarantee we will send them back broken LOL seeya Paul
  19. Yes I was stunned to learn the other day that they have been sold out here for two years !!! I really need to get off the farm more often I havent even seen one driving around out here And Holden I was told is gunna start selling the Camaro so no more dunny doors for this wide brown land Paul
  20. Its um well gunna catch your eye thats for sure then again MAN have always had a style all of there own Paul
  21. Yep Billy I have said before how I dont think there is that difference between Australia and America we both have governments that seem hell bent on driving is into the ditch as fast as they can they seem to want us all to be on welfare and do there darndest to send us all broke and break free enterprise and the one thing in Australia the government hates more than anything else is the small self employed business man , maybe he has a tough spirit that the government cant break easily Anyway way of the topic of Ford Australia and the train wreck they are fast becoming Paul
  22. Are you sure there isn't something floating around in the oil gallery behind the pressure sensor and getting pushed up on the gallery and reducing flow? Maybe try an old style mechanical pressure gauge a few zip ties up in to the cab and see if you are loosing oil pressure when it happens. Paul
  23. do farmers in Europe ever use these for ploughing ??? I know the idea has been out there for a long time since WW2 you could buy after market kits for ex army Jeeps to all sorts of farm work Land Rover had all sorts of big ideas in 3PL as well but none of it has ever taken off for farm use like tractor Mercedes made 4x4 tractors for some time in the 80's that were more tractor than truck but even they sought of failed to be long lasting sellers JCB have been making the fast trac but I never really seen them getting used as tractors 70 years hey my how time flies
  24. Im getting a fair bit of topic here but when talking fuel economy in the fuel crisis back in the 70's a lot of research was done the single biggest factor was speed once you went above 80 kmh it made a huge difference the figures from memory was something along the line of twice as much hp to travel at 100 kmh with a van type trailer flat top tarped loads were the best double stock crates were the worst 7MPG was common back then on interstate trucks or at least it was achieved in large fleets under test Talking about wheel slip on drive tyres I have noticed the only tyres that get real hot are drive tyres so I reckon there must be a fair degree of wheel slip in trucks pulling big loads and a huge amount in trucks running fast Paul
