  1. Paul,They are 1/14 scale.. My red and white cruiseliner is About 4'6" long with a scale 216" wb tractor and 48' trailer.
  2. My experience with Dayton's is that you will always scratch the rim when installing the locking dogs and tighten down with the nuts... There is no way to prevent it as they make solid. contact. I would prep paint install then touch them up...also before you paint the rims look to see if there are tabs welded to each side of the air valve stem... You will thank yourself later if the wheel slips on the new paint...
  3. Been building some r/c trucks last few months. I Bought some used tamiya 1/14 scale cab overs and converted one into a cruiseliner and the other I just added some aftermarket add ons. Been also making a RS700L day cab. I built this 48' flatbed a few weeks ago out of aluminum stock and tamiya axles.
  4. I don't see the problem here......he clearly used his indicators showing his intent to run you off the road.... He he he....
  5. Cat D7N with ripper attachment...
  6. The stacks are back! Looking good....I like the looks of that MH....
  7. Man that sucks....It's a scary feeling when you find yourself standing next to a runaway and can't get it shut down. What are your plans for the engine...I assume a sled puller?
  8. From someone that does not know you outside of this fourm...you really know how to produce some interesting info and back up with photos......you shrug off the bs pretty good too....lol......I really think you could write a book or be some sort of historian on Mack trucks ...thanks for what you have and continue to share with us... Trent
  9. This guy knows his Mack as well as most other truck mfg history. Some think he is just putting the name down but I think he just speaks the truth....He surely has the pics and history lessons for some oddball and cool truck history. How about it....what's your story? How is it that you know and have pictures of our great trucking history? You worked for Mack? Don't have to give a name and address. Just wondering ...lol Trent
  10. Chopped top.....lmao....how tall are you guys.... And besides this is a mack truck not some tinted out hot wheels...lmao....
  11. Man so sorry to hear...hope he is ok... Every time I have to get near a tire or air bag I fear it will explode...I had to do it today to cage a bad parking chamber and finish the day...
  12. Was this just off Lemont road? They use to load us with a rubber tire loader from the big piles......the yard was so muddy .was like driving a lake...hated that place. Was wet, cold and the salt dust was bad... My eyes would sting on a windy day..
  13. I gotta get a good camera...I have seen so many r models lately but my camera phone is bad at distant shots...
  14. I saw north field had some new Mack's running around...
  15. Proof that there was a larger R model cab than the 73' and on +3 cab... How do I get one!
  16. How much road salt will the truck see?. The truck I drive at my new job does nothing but heavy haul/lowboy..840,000 miles on heavy single rail frame is perfect. 6 wheelers are better speced as double rails but Most of the tractors i have driven that had double rails and worked in the winter had frame issues due to road salt. There is no arguement that a double rail is stronger than single but If your just doing standard loads nothing extreme....heavy single in my opinion.
  17. Chicago has poor forwards as seen in OT last night.....our goalie did all the work but his luck ran out.... Gotta support the home team.....CHICAGO BLACK HAWKS!
  18. I did a roof skin a few years back...the only place that had any or air hose was in the a pillars. the run up the driver side for the marker lights and air horn. Think the passenger side had electrical as well . When I installed my visor I just drilled slowly and put in the shortest screw I could use... Trent
  19. I have never been impressed with any Mack engine brake. This E7 400 I drive has a jake brake and it does very little to slow the truck. I with the mack on full engine brake i would compare it to the first stage of any cat or cummins equipped engine brake. I can't comment on the new motors but on the e6 and e7 they are just noise makers. The best thing the do is help you shift a little faster ...that's it.
  20. Tilted kilt....chain restaurant We have a new one in town called twin peaks...if you like big boobs and talent this is the place. it knocks the local hooters and TK establishments out of the park.
  21. Job is great so far. Its only been 2 weeks but so far its Better pay, home every night. Dont feel over worked. I enjoy the pace and truck rides nice. I was afraid my back would be killing me in the r model but not even a hint of back pain. Have no one looking over me like i was when at the race shop...just do the job.do it right and go home. I Load early, make 2-4 moves a day and sometimes finish as early as 1-2 pm. Only thing I don't like is moves into the old parts of the city with the small narrow streets. Had to make a hard right onto this neighborhood street. Block the road,Pick up the case cx210 and go via a permit route. Put me right down a street with a moving truck double parked. Luckily they were almost done...only waited 10mins for them... I Also don't enjoy the traffic near the loop. today was my first day I spent going up and down I-55 . 4 moves total. Started at 5am finished by 4pm . Traffic the whole day on I-55 and I-94 But Monday I get another nice and easy western il trip. Head out west empty and load a D7 to bring back. Will take me about 6 hrs...if I time it right I may get to make a quick 2nd move for the day.
  22. Moved some different stuff this week.. Cat 140m out to western IL komatsu 650 I moved the counter weight, bucket and the catwalk...Just That was almost 70k gross. The 8 axel moved the machine minus the stick. We moved it a few miles west of the city... Canadian national freight train on the old EJ&E line palumbo lowboy truck Rumor is they have had issues with the latest Mack's they bought..They parked many of them and brought back out the old rd Mack's. They have a new International lowboy truck they are using because of the troubles with Mack. Anyone from Mack HQ reading this....wake up! It's one of the last big Chicago Mack fleets....
  23. Looking good...nice to see another duck truck in the making!
  24. It's not the seat...LOL I keep the seat far back and upright...my knees still hit the AC box and the window crank handel...and I'm only 5'10"
