  1. Saw this on the mack web site....its a 6 wheeler but with the cummins engine. http://www.macktrucks.com/assets/MackMarketing/Brochures/GraniteBrochures/MCKTRK_7760_GrMdHvyDtySS.pdf
  2. Think they want in the state and county market... It could be a good move. Hope they will offer a few engine choices.
  3. thats a 3rd gear shift right there....classic example of a perfect shift...LOL
  4. Good read Al Is their parts and service center still around after they knocked down the old building?
  5. Tanzillo Contractors RD Glider kit, Driver: Anthony Tanzillo 300 with a 2 stick 6 speed has the 4.17 camelback rears out of the blue RS700L formerly owned by the guy that also owned the purple and silver striped RS700L from Round Lake IL.
  6. Pic might help me.......but thinking it might be a shift rail housing your thinking of. ?
  7. More importantly , what were the torque ratings? Think the stock v8 Mack was only 1600ftlbs?
  8. Bull husk has a v12 rs700l. It needs cowel extension panels to make it fit.
  9. They made an air version and electric. As far as I know the coupling was the same not sure if it mounts in the same holes. A later model rd should work?
  10. I like the ones with the older grill and red center emblem...
  11. just a FYI....the boomarang antenna was popular in the 80s to mid 90s on RV and some coustom semi trucks here in the US
  12. I remember as a Kid all the Local trucks Dump, flat bed, tanker, etc were Mack and all the nice over the road trucks were KW, Pete, FL. always wondered why until I spent a full day sitting shot gun in a R model cab and later in a big KW with a big bunk. that KW had alot more room, at least it seamed that way.
  13. Are they all aluminum cab? And who built them..
  14. Love how the box has the logo in it..... How do you climb up into that cab? Lol...I did not see a ladder..
  15. V8 in a u model....what a sleeper that would have been back in the day.
  16. Yep Lawt to have them . Why not just add a few more ? Remove lites, shave the mounting unit off, weld hole shut slowly so you don't warp the roof. Or weld a washer to the bottom. Skim coat with bonds, sand and paint.
  17. Think by the mid 70s Mack lost out in big parts of the O/O market. Even when they tried to get in out west with the big V8 they were still making mostly 62MPH trucks with small cabs . The maxidyne and R cab was and still is great for Construction, east coast and midwest but when a big cat or cummins could get you over the hills faster mack needed to stay on par with other truck engine mfg. To bad because they made one of the best trucks and still do but when drivers wanted cab space and HP mack dropped the ball...
  18. I was watching the last episode of "lets put our hard hats together"...aka hoffman crew on gold rush... saw 2 diffrent idiots pouring diesel right out of a can onto a huge bon fire . that was not the bad part. it looked like he was standing on piles of branches/logs and other stuff to fall into after he lites him self up . just trying to get the diesel a few more feet to the center of the fire.....And we wonder who the people are that sue. I know diesel is harder to lite and fumes are not as dangerous as gas yada yada ....but for me I put the gas/diesel on before I light it, and keep the can far away from the fire.
  19. would love to see pics of the A.C in a truck. always heard about them....Let us know when you get it..!!!
  20. vents or possible indents for the interior lights?
  21. I read that Blitz...the company that made that can in the vid..... went BK because of these stupid regulations and people sueing them. There were from Miami Oklahoma and closed doors a short time ago. at the time they had something like 80% of the gas can maket and still could not compete in todays sue crazy world...
  22. Those day cab cruiseliners sure are ugly... But thats ok I'm sure the motor made up for it.
  23. I wish I had a picture of the time I got pulled over and taken to the scales. I had 3" stone in my trailer and it was about 3' high in the center. Pit scale receipt from 10 min ago showed I was still under legal limit by 2k. The cop didn't care he thought he had me. Weighed me gross and was suprised i was legal...then he had me back off the scale and pull forward again but this time tallied up my axel weights one at a time...then went looking for my "short hauling sticker" ....an IL thing ...... sticker.... He was laughing about it later but he said he had never seen a load sticking that far up and still be legal...luckily we parted ways on a friendly note...
  24. My 83' hilbilt end dump is a "Contractor Special" with the low sides. perfect for bob cats and tight spots with small machines and easy to load with big machines as you can see what your putting into it. load it liquid level with dirt just below the top rail and your at about max weight. Down side is when you haul 3" stone or broken concrete you look like an ice cream cone with 3 scoops and stuff fallin off the side. then there is the low tailgate height that likes to catch wood or concrete slabs.
  25. OUCH!. PULLING FROM ONE TOW HOOK! IDIOTS!
