  1. I can assure you that no trailers were harmed during this trip.
  2. Nice looking truck. Little bit of elbow grease and it will be a stunner!
  3. Nice job on the thread, lots of pics... even a dummy like me could follow. That pin you had made looks a lot like a rocker box pin. Only with out the hex head on the end.
  4. Good thing you caught it in time. Just pays to do the hard work doesn't it?
  5. Thanks for the tip Paul. I'd gladly jump outta this and into an old Mack! H67st, this particular one is a k104, before this model was k100g and before that was k100e. The square tanks are good, I've got 1400L or 378 gallons capacity. You loose a fair bit of ground clearance though, it's hard to get under them come service time.
  6. Well I've done a few little loads with my trailer but today is the first time I've loaded it right up. Then I went and did it again. So far it pulls like I've got parachutes behind me. Getting 1km/L or 2.3mpg.
  7. Sorta like Pol Pots wood chipper?

    Oh-no!

Paul, yeah mostly aluminium and fibreglass. Not much left after they burn out. You guys are dead right, certainly best it was completely destroyed. The back half of the truck looks untouched, even the fuel tanks survived.

    Oh-no!

In all seriousness, he is safe and all I've heard was it was an electrical issue.

    Oh-no!

My brother had a bit of a mishap this morning. He has had on going flux capacitor issues and looks like it finally let go.
  11. It never actually got used did it?
  12. Far out! Can you imagine the work involved in de-mobing that thing? The number of truck loads it would take...
  13. The swing out steps you guys speak of are good it theory. But when you make them out of thin steel and plastic they just break apart on Aussie roads.
  14. A nice clean chassis without unused holes looks great. Same as what red horse said, are you keeping it single drive or going bogie?
  15. Maybe just pull your tires off and tell them to supply there own... if they have some sitting around? We have hired trailers before and had a 10c per km fee to cover the cost of tyres/brakes.
  16. Yeah I know of a few. Depends where in Aus you are and how much you wanna pay?
  17. Just be clear from the start about tires. Would hate for them to stake/blow a few and turn around and expect you to pay the bill.
  18. The only thing I know is a mate had an L10 cummins and it was blowing grey smoke. It was an injector issue. But I think your already thinking that was the problem yeah?
  19. Yeah, it's a bit confusing. Basically your em6 was a maxidyne. Your e7 400 isn't a maxidyne. But you need a maxidyne for a 5sp.
  20. http://www.tyldenheritage.com.au/uploads/9/3/0/6/9306704/econodyneengines.pdf Thats a read up on the econodyne.
  21. If your pulling out an em6, you'll need an em7. They are the low revving engines, most limited to around 1800rpm. An e6 or e7 will need more gears than 5.
  22. I especially like the all-in-one gauge. Saves cutting lots of holes in the dash.
  23. Page 3, right down the bottom. Splendid job on that one, man it's a real head turner! Have fun driving it.
  24. Kenworth use aluminium cross members on everything up to 90t rating down here. That's a nice looking Pete!
  25. Wow, if I was getting 1.4km/l with a b double I'd be changing brands too. Rest of it was marketing dribble.
