    The HI HO trucks were a lot better they had 350 12 speeds and 24 volt systems .O&G took a good hit when they took them . Terzian had one but the drive shaft kept coming out Edgewood cons, had two.

    Truck stops make up their money on the little guy and give the big company's big brakes . The Pilot T/S $4.759 and the little guy 5 miles away $4.099 Our state fined Cumberland farms for price gorging . right bob!!!!!!

    total tax diesel NY 0.6520 Conn 0.7560 NJ 0.4190 higher the bass price gos higher the gross receipts needles to say Conn consumers pays a lot more than other states and we have some of the worst roads and bridges .

    Mobile is the most expensive gas/ fuel in the state of Conn Cumberland farms is vary reasonable if you get on there program its .10 cents cheaper off the pump price You can go to farthest point in the state and its cheaper and its costs roughly .03 cents gallon to deliver it.

    I remember back in the 60s there was a company in waterbury Conn that use to make Mack blocks rite a cross the street from the mack dealer owned buy Swirshski family.

    There was 3 Joe ( Jack ) Barone from N branford bought them from Interstate oil paving out of Wallingford CT they bought new .I have the original body for that truck.

    Go from the front they are predrilled to the rear of the cab done a lot of them we double them all out to 204 inch with 42 ft trailers to get 80,000 and 12000on the front end.

    You will have to figure your length from front axle to rear axle and look at federal hiway chart . Here in Conn the weight goes on a tag along you pay hi reg fees any goose neck trailers its on the towing unit reg . I sold a M S 200 water tank to a construction company they filled it with water and loaded on a tag along well lets put it this way the trailer pick up the triaxle and went for ride for 700 feet before it stop no damage but a lot sh%t and sweat.

    My 2001 had a problem with the Jacobs mack had change the oil pump to a higher volume pump it solve the problem the other fix was the external oil lines.WE didn't have to go that rout .Its has 430000 miles

    They are filling old gravel pits back up with fill and they are charging a100.00aload for the tipping fee here in Connecticut.

    I work for a rigging company that had trailers double drop with removable goose neck that had air over hydraulic legs that could be used on any trailer but was slow process.

    That would be a A.S.F American steel foundry . I had driver hook up to trailer in NY made several del. in Conn. and hit bump and loose the trailer . You could see where the pin was sitting on top of the jaw .

    The late 80s had problems with the bolts not long enough and yanking a section of the block out . Ive change a lot of them . They do sell a bolt kit .

    Bozzuto use to run macks in their 300 plus fleet but they went to Ford Sterling Kenworth Freightliner they started a yard for picking parts because they cant sell the Sterling.

    Going back 20 plus years Milford Conn a commuter train hit a Akerman on a low bed stuck . 30 years ago i was working for a company we had driver with A frame trailer get hung up on RT7 in Norwalk Conn . the driver ran down the track to stop the train but the engineer wave back and several min later they hit at full speed nothing survived train truck trailer wall panels .We also had driver with bulk trailer pulled out to close his dome cover at Howes cavern NY he jump off the top trailer and watch the truck & trailer get destroyed .
