  1. Depending on the year 33 was max spec in 2003 A good running 460 is in the 35 neighborhood 98- 2001 pre that seen em go to 38! That being said Rd had limited cooling it was hard to even get a 460 in an RD at some points in time !
  2. Yup that's why they don't use it anymore more trouble than its worth! I guess!
  3. Specially in dust! if you have an under the hood air cleaner you need to monitor this every service as well the turbo moves alot of air during a day these clog up quickly! If you got dual outside cleaners its not as bad! 300 hrs is my go to on a dump!
  4. There was a air recycle valve on the turbo intake boot on the earlier trucks I Forget the name of it I 'm sure someone here will remember the name of it! It would go into periodic heat mode and would raise the rpm sometimes at stop lights on cold days for what seemed like no reason ! this may be in the mix here to Duno being a deleted unit its anyones guess! In my opinion if performance is not suffering just live with it! Just something to try!
  5. I would try it anyway you don’t know what the rograming does! Or except your situation!
  6. I have a suggestion ! take part and clean the EGR DPF ports and tubes make sure all is clear! that surging you hear may be the EGR valve tryng to find its sweet spot and restricted tubes can make it slow to respond! Just something to try!
  7. Very common on RD SX and most RD of that vintage! took a lot of stress off the hood in adverse conditions!
  8. Could be worse ! We could have Putin! He is stupid enough to send up a nuke! Maybe him and rocket boy will team up! Both are equally un hinged !
  9. As stated ! Shift rail! pricey to impossible fix parts are scarce! PAI MABE! Fuller time!
  10. I'm going to have to pay more attention to the dates of the posts I guess! I'd like to know how these old posts keep getting recycled! It had zero replies when I looked at it first! just getting old and senile I guess!😐
  11. Guys ! 12 speed!!!! (1070)? You likely have a broken shift rail ! The trans ! The other thing that commonly happens is the snap ring in the split cylinder breaks ! Lift the lid off and look down inside there is a tapered shift rail it is likely broken! Just saying!
  12. That there is pretty bad splitting of the hairs hairs! long as a slack is holding its set there should not be an issue!
  13. I am not a huge gunite fan how ever they do work well when they work!
  14. If its air asisted Check into what oynx left there on adjustment and I have seen the return springs break under the dash! If air assisted pay real big attention to the clutch brake adjustment procedure as these not set right can ruin a clutch brake in short order ! And the factory does not do a good job of setting them! its up to whom ever PDIs the truck to notice and adjust! Then adjust the air actuator to spec ! I also like easy pedal assume unit we try to keep people steered in that direction! How ever I heard the other day we sold and installed our first Road choice Clutch !!!!!! OH HAPPY Days! they will see how that goes!😱
  15. ahh maybe
  16. Bro if you look at the soot value there If you can believe the screen shot it looks to be working fine! just sayin!😐 These dam aftertreatment systems are a crap shoot to trouble shoot no real cut and dried tests bunch of parts changing BS!
  17. Just note that these sensors can be effected by dampness I believe they had us move the outlet sensor on several trucks further back away from the y pipe water coming down the stack! Just sayin!
  18. Joe Yup! If you can believe what is on the screen there 23 percent duty cycle dose then that 650 seems reasonable! a normal engine idles at 350 so if you add fuel at a low rate after the fact its going to bring the heat up some! And I will add that with all the trouble we have had with these sensors our guys always went there before first before starting at the front and working back! he should note too if he doesn't know already that once nox sensors are changed the lighting bolt will stay on till the computer has time to reevaluate after the learned dat reset! I was about to post the above ! however you added stuff! So do a learned data reset start an E service repair ticket and see if the Mack gurus can assist you bro! no point in beeting a dead horse !
  19. hmmm from what I have seen these are reasonable Look not bad ! duno what to tell ya! Was there any evidence of crystal buildup when they had the box off!?Thinking about a crack in the ash can! quite a common thing Also the nox sensors were chronic on these at one point they had a point where we had been changing them left right and center! You could throw sensors at it looks like they have thrown everything else at it! they could be out of parameter and I believe you must do a learned data reset!
  20. (make sure you got proper temp ) what temps are you seeing?
  21. Yup start at the other end! make sure you got proper temp ! Turbo spooling properly on regen ? Check turbo Effort possibly sticking ! fuel pressure OK? fuel dowser clean?Dpf sensor ports clear tubes clear? with this junk you need to work front to back ALMOST always! Just sayin
  22. Been my observation the Volvo front axle is one thing they got right quite trouble free! Definately check them!!!! how ever more common failure is draglink ends and tie rod ends!
  23. What could possibly go wrong!😅 the arm has some resistance but should move with too fingers!
  24. Piston protrusion would be effected!
