You know how the roomor mill works buddy!🤨
-
Well I can read between the lines sometimes there are some guys on here that tend to get off topic AS you know!😇 roomer has it His cement finishing skills are second to none! 😂 The camber looks decent when looking straight on at the idlers Don't think throwing a track is going to be too much of a problem just my gut feel on it! Its weighing off the purchase against Break downs and band aid efforts! As you might remember I bought a new miller 211 works like a hot dam couple of spools of wire and gas and I can build up sprockets and shit if need be ! There are some teeth caps missing I can replace them! Long as the engine don't pack in should be OK!Going to think on it awhile get the hoe mounted on there! see how things ARE!
-
So just using the sprockets as a guide the rails /chains are worn some odiously its old ! the sprockets are some what oval! That said the amount I will be traveling on the claim would be minimal mainly packing logs to the mill pulling out stumps for burn piling them! Still on the fence on this as if you figure how much it would cost to hire a excavator hoe with a seasoned operator to come in and do the work stump wise Way cheaper to hire ! But for doing the logging and loading the mill specially with the 4/1 that is priceless in my mind ! Dunno Going to have to think on it! I'm going to go up there this week and mount the hoe on the machine for her and see what other stuff it might need ! even if I don't buy it this needs to be done in order for her to sell it! They did invest in some new battery's and the 4/1 has been totally re plumbed new hoses and hard lines before the guy got placed in a home ! They hired a local wrench to come and do it! I have heard of the guy so I may give him a call see what his take On the machine is! Just got to find or make a pin for the lower hoe mount even something temporary! Some of the hoses on the hoe need replacing all that stuff Is elementary! The worst part is I ain't getting any younger nor is the machine ! If I need to do any bull work I'm not up to the task! The body hurts all over! Years of suspension work and humping drivelines, tranys in and out and bull work has taken its toll! This is intended to make less and lighter work not More! I if I do pull the trigger may have to get Joey to cast me up a counter weight! ! 😅
-
Inch and a half good to know! Thanks ! i belive I got some old shit laying around brake cams and stuff!
-
Temperature change I would think! The cone is likly a bit loose on the hub!refrain from changing speeds on the fly in reverse! It will only make matters worse! If this is what is going on! Just sayin! The hub and cone are a real fragile design !
-
Yup I can bandaid and make shit go! Thats no problem Parts also can be band aided to a point! The lady that has it is selling cause her hubby got dementia an can no longer use it! Were missing a few bits lower pin for mounting the hoe is gone Can improvise that the operator seat is gone for the hoe can also improv on that Replace a few hoses etc do able! we will see, Might offer her ten .still got to get it moved its about 40 miles away I know a few Guys with equipment trailers shouldn't be an issue! got to go by the scales Thats my only little concern mid size excavator should be similar in weight! so packing this home should be OK! Under the circumstances I don't want to be a cheap ass but on the other hand don't need a 9000 dollar lawn ornament either worth maybe 1000 bucks at todays scrap prices!😂 Thanks for your in put Guys!
-
Thanks Terry the clutch disengages good both side the brakes looks like I can tweak these with out getting too deep will see!
-
I have been looking for quite some time for a machine for the claim! Was wanting 4x4 back hoe But this unit has appeared ! small bull dozer | Classifieds for Jobs, Rentals, Cars, Furniture and Free Stuff (usednanaimo.com) Wondered if Any of you guys have any experience with these! Runs decent the track tensioner springs are broken As you can see there the tracks are tight the chains and sprockets are decent how ever For light use around the claim here think it may be OK for my endevers around the claim here! toting logs around and some gardening projects for the wife! The steering brakes are a bit slow to react !Other wise still functions OK! Have know idea how many hours on it ! The oil looked decent ! Like some opinions Mechohaulic / Others???

You wouldn't dare put concrete down around here with out plastic under it! The stuff would b e wet all the time!

Anyone tried this 3 leave setup on a 38k camelback?
fjh replied to Bill 88 R 688 ST's topic in Driveline and Suspension
Most dump trucks here are speced with antisway leafs inch thick stead of 3/4 ! Cant see that tapper leaf set up in a dump truck ?! how ever that T ride has been working as stated for decades and is similar in nature ! Might be OK! The draw back I see ! The standard camel back upper leaves can be duplicated At any spring shop where by that tapper leaf not so much! strictly a Mack Item! $$$$$$$$$$ -
38K Camel back leafs fanning out
fjh replied to Bill 88 R 688 ST's topic in Driveline and Suspension
We were stocking Meritor stuff ! Cheaper than the Mack stuff I like the OEM washers For the boxes! I also rather use nylock Nuts as the stover nuts are too hard to remove next Time! All the jobber Kits seem to come with bigger washers and stover nuts! -

Me too bud ! Never did give those a pet name! Side blocks would usually get you the right parts if you asked a parts guy to get them for you! Spring clips may confuse most of them including me ! U bolts would get the right part ! If you asked for a twinky our Guys would have to order those from Walmart! 😁 I like to replace the box bolts just cause ! And always replace the u bolt washers because I had the the dam things break reusing them! Top of my list when ordering was a CAN OF NEVER SEAZE ! Neverseaze is like put the icing on the cake for suspension work for me! 😁 -
If It is short cycling I would have the charge checked! Just sayin!
-
Yup a tad steep I’d say!
-
Thanks Pro! I had very little to do with these ! Had a side walk superintendent over veiw of the jobs and very little hands on ! When these work they work decent But when they don't work they are expensive!
-
Of Coarse not! 🤐Wouldn't want to admit to an issue would we!🤐 😡 Thanx bro! hopefully you can dig up the info! It don't really matter its a dealer repair for the most part! Still need the PTT to park the trany to remove the lid! Me thinks!😡
-
Pro may check back he’s good at finding stuff for guys! Best have this looked into at a dealer!they will have all the tools to repair this!
-
Thanx pro ! We never tried this in the truck however we often wanted to try it!
-
I am no Guru on these their are better sources on the site than myself for this newer stuff How ever seen this stuff chased dozens of times at our shop!
-
To look At cups you need to put a clear hose on the return from the head to the tank ! It sounds like cups If it has no codes! Also sounds like they were chasing this before dumping the truck!
-
True ! Usually the sycro is the main issue! If you have the two speed reverse don’t select hi while moving! Or have it programed out! It can create issues for the synchro ! By design the thing is very flimsy Shifting on the fly in reverse can cause the syncro cone to work loose from its hub! resulting in pre mature failure (Just An observation) ! You likly have a synchro issue there! The broken stop plate will show up as a code sooner or later if that is an issue you likely have a synchro issue! The trans will have to come out! Bunch of special tools to work on this trans! Have them check your clutch wear before the transmission is pulled you may just as well do the clutch if it is more than 50 percent worn !also in this country the trans had a 3 year 750000 Warranty ! how ever you are well beyond that category ! Note I'm no guru on these how ever seen a fair few of these fail under warranty and just out of warranty ! for the most part the trans has been pretty dependable as much as I hate to admit it! MACPRO ? Advice Please! Just sayin!

Glenn Akers Passing
fjh replied to Julie Akers's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Again My condolences to your family ! As I spoke before he will be sadly missed here At BMT ! A great Mind and And contributor to the BMT Site! Our Hearts are with you Julie! -
Agreed run it for awhile keep checking the oil in the morning and if it increases on the dip stick you’ll likely have your answer then you can start doing the testing!
-
There is a stop plate in the lid that can fail also the synchro in these is sometimes problematic! the clutch valve is likely what you hear squeaking! Question is your trans set up with 2 speed reverse! ? Just sayin!
-
They usually fail in this fashion the other thing that can happen is the drive gear can come loose but that is a failure that used to happen to the older style pump with out the filter head built into it! Maybe price the pump !BUT the parts cannon approach is not the way to go if that's what your thinking you need to verify if the fuel has indeed got into the oil ! OIl samples are cheap go to any equipment outlet they will likely have a sample kit If you have a CAT dealer near by stop and Get an SOS sample kit and get it done the longer you wait and mess around the longer it will take to get things up and running again! the halo test is a back yard test and works if you are familiar on what to look for do it on a piece of card board ! the sample will tell the tail of the oil pressure but NOT where it Came from! Bro just follow through with the tests that Joey has provided! If The pan is off all you need now is REGUTATED AIR 60-70 psi and eye balls to test! AND a little luck!
