    A big problem back years ago with turbos was That they were run too hot on the exhaust side cooking them.Older engines did not have a fuel ratio valve and if the turbo lost boost for some reason due to aleak the fuel would keep fuel at max setting causing hi exhast temps.The newer engine have a fuel ratio valve or boost sensor that will limit the fuel to the engine if the boost is not high enough so the turbo is saved the high temp.

    About 30 years ago at a police shooting contest a policeman pointed a 357 loaded with blanks at some else and pulled the trigger and killed him.

    Pull the small plate off of the bottom of the flywheel housing.

    There is nothing wrong with PAI parts.

    And take note to the timing mark on the pitman arm to the shaft.

    Years ago i had a machine shop build a flywheel for me for some old engine and was simple for him to build.

    You are changing both rears right?

    Yes they are matched and you may find some that say they have did it.

    That is called outer cam.I all ways pulled the pinion and housing and removed the big nut on the end of the pinion and then pressed the shaft out of the cam and changed to the other cam.You can not change the pinion with out using the ring gear it is mated to.

    A friend of mine told me he had a pair boots made out of that and he could dance all night in them and it never wears out.

    That liner protruction needs checked with liner clamped down in case no one knows.

    I saw that one time with a cat.When who ever found it some one had at the paint shop let a hand full of paper get into one port like that.I think the paint shop had maybe some of the engine apart.

    Just me thinking out loud but i would have thought that you had that much in it for material

    make sure the exhaust port in the governor is not pluged.

    The B model never came with the 285 but could have been put in later.It has same bolt pattern as the 237 and old 673.Some one done what i did and install a latrer engine but used the push to release clutch.That way no problem with linkage.
