  1. Ya, got on yesterday morning, then it froze up and "no server" message. Glad to hear it's all well again(and better too).
  2. Condensation? I change mine every spring even with minimal miles on it(along with oil change/fuel filters). Never had water in mine though. Is there a crack somewhere where it letting rainwater in?
  3. There should be a number stamped on the front area of the accy drive on passenger side. ENDT673C ? I couldn't guess what would be popular later on? Turbo version of 673? the 711?
  4. Ya, gotta realize what/where you're at before shifting thru the wheel, cause it can come back and hurt ya! Especially since I don't have a big enough belly to hold it in place LOL!!!
  5. That definitely falls under the category of "making power"!
  6. My B used to make oil milkshakes everytime I took it out. The valves on the dash would seep oil down the front! Once I got it rebuilt I can't get more than a drip out of the tank(probably residual left from all them years it was bad). Like mentioned, it will get into seals and start causing more greif so it's money well spent.
  7. Even the top of the stack is soot black! Nice job.
  8. Yup........that'd be me doing the shifting show. It started out on a private server, someone(ok lots of people) have saved it and then posted it on YouTube. I did the one handed version about 3 yrs ago, then the next year I did the two handed.
  9. If I had two cameras, and some decent video editing equipment I'd like to make another video showing both inside and OUT(pipes/smoke/noise). I like the DVD, but I wish I could fast forward to the driving part but it's not set up that way. You have to watch all the hub-bub THEN watch the driving. I have all his VHS tapes from earlier on and they are nice cause you can fast forward to the good stuff.
  10. Beside a 237/250/285 motor, nothing else will really fit in the engine bay. How heavy are going to be? I pull 14K trailer around with my ol 673 without much trouble. Coming up on 50 yrs old and still purr'n without using much than a qt of oil all summer(maybe 5K miles/yr).
  11. That's a roll back to the 70's right there!!
  12. Rod, just follow my little video. Rowing a Quad is not much different then a triplex or Duplex. Just a couple more splits than you are used to with your Duplex. A quad is basically run like a Triplex only cause you usually don't split with Lo/Lo beyond 1st gear. So when you get to 2nd, split 3 times and go to 3rd, etc. Downshifting: when you get compound down to LO, then upshift it to OD then dowshift main. Run compound down to LO, then upshift to OD then dowshift main again. Is it a double OD or single OD quad?
  13. Ya, I poke around on occasion, but not very often. Not much on there anymore. Most of the usual guys got banned when they started to frequent "other" sites LOL!! Whatever.....
  14. Sounds like the spool valve is not working properly?? It controls fluid direction as you turn wheel. If it hangs up, it will cause loss of power. I'm no expert, but that seems the issue at hand. Does it have power box or just power assist?
  15. Hi Phillip. Recognize you from the ol Diesel Stop.....if that is you? Welcome to the Dog pound! Good luck on the test. It really isn't THAT hard, just have to read/study and follow the rules. I did mine all on my own also, with renting a truck for test.
  16. I don't see pitting as a major issue, especially since it's a toy and won't see 80K lbs. As long as the pattern on them was still good, no howl, I think you're good to go.
  17. I got 11r22.5's on it. With GPS and on the gov' it ran 65 mph. I usually with trailer run 1900 or so and it runs about 60 mph(so says buddy who usually follows me to/from racetrack with his pickup and trailer).
  18. With single overdrive and 4.2 gears, 22" tires, you should get near 70 mph topped out on govenor. I get ~65 with 4.65 gears at 2100 rpm. Hope you get the shake fixed.
  19. Hey Rod. From the information I've heard(and pretty much agree) is the lack of air flow thru the old oil bath units. With bigger power motors, you need more air into them, so getting the dry element unit is a definite upgrade. Did they still have oil bath with the C motor? I'm not up on what/when they quit oil bath.
  20. Nope, I didn't put it there. Didn't actually know places like that existed til someone posted a link to it one day. I had a fellow from a Ford pickup site host it for me cause I didn't know there was places to do that. Guess people must have downloaded it and then put it on YouTube?
  21. If I recall, all the cables did go to S/P switch, cause you need to mix/match them to get 12/24v, so the positives did not just go to the frame. Get the 12v starter, batteries and alt. Simple and much more effective starting system. Get 11r22.5 tires and matching rims, any truck shop will have what you need in stock. Common tire/rim combo. Order the whole set up at one time and bolt them on. Used rim will cost you about $50ea.(sandblasted/painted). Run the old oil bath. Unless someone can get you a dry type cheap. I still run mine with oil bath unit. Clean the pan, put a clean qt(something like that) of oil in it and drive it. Unless you put big motor in it, the old unit will work just fine.
  22. Hey, flip the negatives back over LOL!!! What a nice piece. Sure wish there was stuff like that over here.
  23. It depends on the OD in the tranny mostly. Single or double? .8, .7, .6?
  24. It's a triplex. Ya, that's me doing the work in those two vids. The first version was one handed, then the following year I did the two handed version. I was bobtailing, so I skip along the gears usually. I needed to put the mic outside so you get the full effect of the almost straight pipes.
