  1. Excellent video. The cast and crew from IRT should watch this and take notes on how to produce a quality show without all the unneccessary BS.
  2. Being from Weirton it might be making appearances at the Watt's/BMT show. I liked your old avatar better.
  3. Is there something about the bumper brackets on CH/CX's that cause them to bend easily? I've seen several like this where there is no visible damage to the bumper itself.
  4. I believe they are the same year also. The ad shows the VIN. I wonder if it's close to Vin's VIN.
  5. The 600 with the sleeper and the 700 are beautiful! That sounds right. Oh God, no.
  6. How's this for U model porn: "Dear Penthouse, I never thought this would happen to me. I'm a travelling salesman and stopped at a bar while on a business trip recently. Right before closing time, I was approached by a beautiful young U model with with large, perky (albeit lopsided)........" Sorry, I'm having trouble staying focused, but you get the picture. Here's a decent looking one from TruckPaper: http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=5443040
  7. I think most of us here will be returning back to the earth before that step van.
  8. And after all that the puppeteers go on strike demanding a $15 per/hr minimum wage.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I've never seen one in any of the steel dash model years. Yeah, but I was doing it safely. I had the cruise control set so there was no need to watch the road or hold the steering wheel.
  10. I was at work last night driving a Mack, listening to Fleetwood Mac, eating a Big Mac, and thinking of ways to reinvent Mac & Cheese, when for some unknown reason my thoughts turned to Mack trucks. I think I got the model numbers right. I was wondering when the 10 &12 speed Maxitorques were first offered. I was thinking mid 70's but the ENDT866 had already been out for a few years. Were these trannies available then or was there another model to put behind the big 375hp Thermodyne?
  11. I always preferred the look of the lower, single headlights to the quads.
  12. Happy Birthday! It's interesting how certain subject titles offer clues as to whom the author is. You losing yaw accent awready? It's spelled thoidy-thoid.
  13. It's coming along nicely, no need to rush.
  14. I wasn't suggesting it was an afterthought and many other manufacturers did the same thing. I think what stands out about the GMC/Chevys is that the vast majority were built with the 90" BBC and there was no medium length hood available.
  15. You might wanna just fly Max up to San Francisco next time.
  16. Another job made easier thanks to the obstruction-free access of the butterfly hood.
  17. Good stuff. Thanks, Al!
  18. They used to raise the cab of the short hood models and squeeze an 8V71 in there. With the the long hood and an 8V92 with a turbo there should still be plenty of room for you to do the right thing and retrofit a DPF system.
  19. i vaguely remember a Highpoint employee as a member on here or a similar site.
  20. Looks like a great show. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  21. Jeez, that place is becoming uninhabitable. We used to have all that plus Bick's, Arthur Treacher's, and Church's Chicken. My first visit to Arby's was in the late 60's or early 70's and it was on Old Country Rd in Westbury, just west of the Post Ave/Merrick Ave intersection. It was still there at least into the 90's.
  22. They might have dubbed the Detroit sound because the were so cool to listen to. Or they wanted to level the playing field. "you really gotta quit calling Detroit diesels Yamaha's...............Yamaha's are much more dependable than a green leaker, and generate more torque!" Gearhead204 2014
  23. Prolly won't be available in NYC. They should include the phrase "liberal amount of meat" in the description just to break balls.
  24. Ah yes, the parking enfocement "Brownies". As a city resident in the 1980's, they were "the man" I was most concerned about. A somewhat over-zealous bunch as I recall.
