I was browsing Facebook Marketplace and saw this behemoth. Certainly a very strangely specd heavy hauler in near perfect condition. It says it was originally  a NYC Department of Sanitation rig. Maybe @NycHeavyIron knows its history. No affiliation to the listing. Just posting here for others to see.

unless the gearing was changed, those rigs only had a top speed of around 40 MPH.

they were used for hauling VERY HEAVY loads in the landfills themselves, and never saw use on public roads

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

Fantastic find, thank you for posting! This was one of the 90Y trucks used in the Landfill. It was originally blue then at some point they painted it white, it also had a big headache/light rack with a HEAVY Braden winch mounted to the frame behind the cab, used to pull out broken down Caterpillar D9's off the active cells. The last I saw this truck was in 2016, it was towing one of the snow melters on Staten Island. Here are some pictures of this exact truck:
